my rib feels like it is broken, could it be the lymphodema?

I have fairly mild lymphodemia in my left boobie, did PT but confess to not keeping up with the PT

I have been getting a sharp pain randomly in my left rib area, actually feels like a broken bone

it comes and goes, seems to come when I stretch a certain way

PCD wrote me a script to get it xrayed to see if broken but could this be from the lympho?  and does it mean it is getting worse?  could I actually have a broken bone from the rads (4 years out)

doing a mamo today and plan on asking the techs to see if any help or if they can tell on the mamo if it is worse

    Proudtospin, the randomness and the "comes and goes" sound like truncal lymphedema symptoms, but the "when I stretch a certain way" sure doesn't. Radiation weakens the ribs and makes a break more likely than before rads, but a simple x-ray would tell you that. The mammo isn't going to tell them anything about lymphedema. I sure hope you get quick answers and an easy fix!Smile Do let us know what you discover!

    thanks Binney, Grannydukes was with me today and agreed that you were the person to ask.

    tommorrow is a day to talk to docs, did the xray and sure they will know if the rib is busted or whatever

    I am guilty of blaming everything on the BC and treatment cept I do know about the weakening after rads

    sigh, got to do some ohhhmmmmms tonight, along with a glass of wine!

    Did you have reconstruction? Sometimes as a result of muscles being in spasm over my implants I get severe stabbing on one side of my ribs. It felt like what you are describing. Ptn loosened thing up. Hope it is soemthing easily dispatched for you!!

    well I had an xray the other day and nothing broken, I did not have a mastectomy so no reconstruction

    seeing my bs next Friday and plan to talk to her and bring it up as she was really the person who first alerted me to the lymphdemia
