It's my Birthday today!!!
I usually try not to draw attention to myself in general but this is different. I was diagnosed Stage IIIB when i was 31 and when I found out how big my tumor was I thought I was going to die. I just turned 33 today! Big parade! Bring out the cake and balloons! It marked another 365 days given to me by God. I started the day on my knees, crying in gratitude. I got to be around so many of my kids milestones and ordinary moments. More time with my hubby and soulmate. Life is good!!!

Thank you so much my sisters, you and I know how wonderful, how treasured a birthday is ! I started the day waking up and seeing so many posts and greetings on facebook already. My daughter made me a card that was so cute and wonderful. My 3 yr old son was mumbling happy birthday along with my hubby and little girl. I got a pretty necklace with a blue topaz. Hubby proceeded to make waffles and omelettes while I put on some 80's, 90's music. Then my mother in law treated me to a mani pedi. I spent the rest of the afternoon with the fam since we planned to go to the beach but it rained.
Then hubby took me to a nice Malaysian restaurant just the two of us. Sometimes months go by when we go out to dinner without the kids and I forget what a date is
. We ended the day with coffee and book browsing at barnes and noble.
I would like to say that i have been filled with such happiness, such serenity, such pure joy. I opened my hands to each gift, opened my arms wide for each hug. I will never be 32 again and i am happy to be 33 and hoping for decades to come but i treasure each moment.

Congrats Letlet. Now, to work on the "more dates" issue. Yes, we do treasure our lives more after this experience.

Happy Birthday!! May you enjoy many, many more!

Happy Birthday Letlet. It sounds like you are living life to the fullest!
-
Happy birthday and many more happy celebrations!
-
Your words are serene and beautiful, Letlet. Ordinary moments aren't ordinary are they? Your birthDAY sounds just perfect.

I am late to the party, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! So much to celebrate.
I know it sounds corny, but I have always really liked the slogan of the American Cancer Society about more birthdays...here's to many many more, Letlet!!!
