I had a grade 3 1.4 cm Idc HER2 pos, had a lumpectomy and 5 wks of rads, 25 treatments and now 5 years of tamox. They offered me chemo, but also said, it was only a seven percent chance it would do any good, so opted not to have it and just go with the rads and Tamox and now they have found clacifications in other breast that was completely clear b4, and the left one was clear this time, which was the original, problem and this is after rads six moths ago, it was the 6 month check mamogram, i have to go tuesday to have some more photos taken with some other kind of machine for changes were significant in one specific area. so here goes again. i may need chemo this time,

I have been dx with stage 1 bc grade 2 (idc) stb node neg. ERPos Pr neg Her neg. Had Lumpectomy my MO will start my round of chemo this coming Tues 6/12/12 4 sessions of Cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan trade name) with Docetaxel (Taxotere trade name). My oco score is 35 high risk. Acoording to that score it lowers the risk significantly of recurrence. I am not looking forwared to this but will do everything I can to help me. I want to be around for 10 more years. I will be put on a chemo pill for 5 years and after chemo will take 6 weeks of rads. Anyone else have similar treatment? Also my mo said she might set me up for 2 more sessions if I am tolerating treatment well.

Dear Midnight sorry to hear that but you need to do what you can do to fight this disease. As I previously posted above I am begining Chemo this Tuesday, am not looking forward to it but I will do anything I can. My tumor size was 1.2 cent. node neg. I had the SNB and two nodes were removed the first and second sentinal nodes. I thought my MO was being aggressive with this theraphy but with the oxy score of 35 I now know it is the right thing to do with my particular case. It broadens my chances of no recurrence by 10%. Good luck to you, God Bless.
