Dear God,Lord, Goddess, Divine Spirit,Yahweh,Allah Father
creator of all there is,
we thank you for this opportunity
to gather together in one another's company.
We thank you for the light
you bring to this family gathering.
Please grant us the vision
to see the highest in one another,
and grant us the opportunity to continue to be there for each other in good times, as well as not-so-great-times.
Give us strength and fortitude to ride the tides of change, and empower us always to be nurturing and loving with one another. Open our spiritual eyes that we may see one another for who we truly are... and love one other in the same spirit.
May sadness, disappointment and anger be minimal; may happiness, positive thoughts and good experiences together be bountiful. May we always cope, and hope, with each other... with grace.

UNIVERSAL PRAYER ---I found this prayer
in a book a long time ago...
Praying for all of us
for light
peace and healing
xoxo
Patti
May all beings find a common ground of unity.
May all beings be happy.
May the poor be fed.
May the naked be clothed.
May the thirsty receive the waters of pure light.
May the deaf hear.
May the war mongers find refuge in peace.
May all beings love one another.
May all children be protected.
May all beings walk in harmony.
May all beings find simplicity.
May all beings realise their true nature.
May all races come together in brotherhood.
May the blind see.
May the lame walk.
May all beings that are lost find their way.
May all beings that are miserable surrender to truth.
May all beings that are sad find happiness.
May all beings that are unconscious be awakened.
May all beings that are lonely find perfect companion.
May all beings that are mute be able to speak.
May all beings that are uneducated receive knowledge.
May all beings that are weak find strength.
May all beings that are brave be rewarded.
May all beings be happy.
May all beings be enlightened.
May peace prevail in all hearts.
Amen

Dear Lord I come to You today
On bended knees to You I pray
I have so many friends in need of prayer.
Please bless each one I ask of You
Heal their bodies and their spirits, too
Some have very heavy loads to bear.
I thank You for each precious friend
May Your blessings to them never end
Please send to them Your tender loving care.
Amen
Hugs and God Bless,

Wonderful thought and call to prayer Patti!

Thank you for starting this forum subject. We must not forget the healing power of prayers. I found this beautiful prayer in The Cancer Crusade website.
Dear God . . .
Please help me to see my disease
as a storm blowing through my life.
Each treatment as just a brief squall,
painful symptoms and side effects
as sudden drenching downpours that
will soon be over.
Help me to visualize, believe, and understand
that although my body may be ravaged and broken,
my spirit will be stronger, hardier,
and infinitely more beautiful after pruning.

Old man Wrigley lived in that white house
Down the street where i grew up
Momma used to send me over with things
We struck a freindship up
I spent a few long summers out on his old porch swing
Says he was in the war when in the navy
Lost his wife, lost his baby
Broke down and asked him one time
How ya keep from going crazy
He said I'll see my wife and son in just a little while
I asked him what he meant
He looked at me and smiled, said
(Chorus)
I raise my hands, bow my head
I'm finding more and more truth in the words written in red
They tell me that there's more to life than just what i can see
Oh i believe
Few years later i was off at college
Talkin' to mom on the phone one night
Getting all caught up on the gossip
The ins and outs of the small town life
She said oh by the way son, old man Wrigley's died.
Later on that night, i laid there thinkin' back
Thought 'bout a couple long-lost summers
I didn't know whether to cry or laugh
If there was ever anybody desevred a ticket to the other side
It'd be that sweet old man who looked me in the eye, said
(Chorus)
I raise my hands, bow my head
I'm finding more and more truth in the words written in red
They tell me that there's more to life than just what i can see
I can't quote the book
The chapter or the verse
You can't tell me it all ends
In a slow ride in a hearse
You know I'm more and more convinced
The longer that i live
Yeah, this can't be
No, this can't be
No, this can't be all there is
(Chorus)
When I raise my hands, bow my head
I'm finding more and more truth in the words written in red
They tell me that there's more to life than just what i can see
I believe
Oh, I
I believe
I believe
I believe
I believe
I believe
