06/06/06-Six Years Ago At This Moment...
...I was under the knife, having my bustline removed and replaced. Five hours later I came to consciousness (rather abruptly, I remember) and my first thought was "It's done." Of course it was really only just beginning, as I learned when I was wheeled down the hall towards my husband who was trying to smile - and who then had to tell me I had positive nodes, which we both knew meant CHEMO. A journey I had thought I just couldn't make - but of course I did, along with everything else the doctors threw at me! It now seems surreal to be sitting here at the same desk, looking out at the same view, and realizing that nothing - and yet everything - has changed.
Thanks for listening to my musings - all the best to all who survive along with me...
Julie

Sugarplum...I'm coming up on my 1 yr. UMX anniversary next week. And you dx date is the same as mine, only 5 yrs. earlier. You had to endure much more than I have in the past year and I am so happy to hear that you have marched through whatever cancer had to throw at you and have come out the other side. Congratulations and thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with all of of us who are walking along the path behind you.

6 years is a awesome goal to reach, and your post was lovely. Would you consider posting it in the 5+ years plus thread as well. When I first was dxed, it was my go to thread if I was feeling down.
I think our stats are almost identical. You made my day! I hope you have many more years of enjoying the view from your desk.
