Thanks for the first note regarding the method for getting the funds where they need to go.

And thanks for the second too.  The point isn't lost on anyone who is paying attention.

Large federal block grants are disseminated to each state with many strings attached.

Depending on the organization connections to state and local governments officials lobist will always influence how much each organization receives.

Believe me no senator, congressman, governor or mayor will tie their political wagon to Komen.  Loyalty in politics is non existent.  Especially, when the world knows "there is a hole in the boat".  Rats will be jumping to save their political futures.

Congressional investigation, a buzz word in Washington, would be likened to a criminal investigation his own criminal activity.

Komen has spend over a million on PR, Avon and Lauder spend more money in research and community projects for breast cancer.

Komen already lost its credibility when Brinker uses the Organization to pursue her ambitions, give money donations to buy an Ambassador seat.

There is National Breast Cancer Coalition that has a listing of how each organization works, how donations are used, etc.

There are plenty of local services that need help for breast cancer patients .

Brinker never disclosed that they were giving funds to PP, that are in the business of abortions, and women are diverted to community clinics for diagnosis or services.

I have written before on this site about Komen behavior closely aligns with many people that are now behind bars for investor fraud.  One of those people would be Madoff who collected money for one reason and used it for his own benefit.  Sound familiar? Should- almost a laser print of what Brinker and her "hench men"  are doing, daily.

A quick review of their financial statements sets out clearly very little money is being used for research.  A visual of what is really going on is within their financial statements and has been for years.

Hopefully, the "grass root" movement a foot will be the undoing of Brinker.

Did anybody watch the documentary "Pink Ribbon Inc"? In it, Komen betrays just how transparently hypocritial her organization is. Remember the full name - Susan G. Komen For the Cure? But Komen says in that documentary that she hopes one day cancer (presumably advanced bc) will be a chronic condition that a woman can treat with one pill a day. As opposed to a death sentence...hmmmm.....I thought "CURE" meant just that, and not a pill sale for Komen's Big Pharma partners.

Cheryl, at the Georgia Health Sciences Cancer Clinic in Augusta, sets up Roel's third dose of Azacitidine the chemotherapy designed to maintain his remission. New research has revealed that chemotherapy can cause damage to healthy cells which triggers them to secrete a protein that sustains tumor growth and resistance to further treatment. In a "completely unexpected" finding, new research has revealed that chemotherapy can cause damage to healthy cells which triggers them to secrete a protein that sustains tumor growth and resistance to further treatment.Like Us on Facebook  Chemotherapy is a drug treatment that uses powerful chemicals to kill fast-growing cells found in tumors in the body.Around 90% of patients with solid cancers, such as breast, prostate, lung and colon that spread - metastatic disease - develop resistance to chemotherapy.Researchers tested the effects of a type of chemotherapy on tissue collected from men with prostate cancer, and found "evidence of DNA damage" in healthy cells after treatment. The results of the study are published in the journal Nature Medicine.Researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle examined fibroblast cells. Fibroblast cells normally play a critical role in wound healing and the production of collagen, the main component of connective tissue such as tendons.Researchers found that chemotherapy causes DNA damage that causes the fibroblasts to produce up to 30 times more of a protein called WNT16B than they should and the protein fuels cancer cells to grow and invade surrounding tissue - and to resist chemotherapy.Lead researcher Peter Nelson said the findings indicate that the tumor microenvironment also can influence the success or failure of these more precise therapies."Cancer therapies are increasingly evolving to be very specific, targeting key molecular engines that drive the cancer rather than more generic vulnerabilities, such as damaging DNA," Nelson said.A cancer research expert from the UK Fran Balkwill, told BBC News that this work fits with other research showing that cancer treatments don't just affect cancer cells, but can also target cells in and around tumors."Sometimes this can be good - for instance, chemotherapy can stimulate surrounding healthy immune cells to attack tumors," Balkwill said. "But this work confirms that healthy cells surrounding the tumour can also help the tumour to become resistant to treatment. The next step is to find ways to target these resistance mechanisms to help make chemotherapy more effective."   © 2012 Counsel & Heal All rights reserved. Do not reproduce without permission.

    Breast-Cancer Group Shakes Up Ranks

Susan G. Komen for the Cure shook up its top ranks Wednesday, announcing the resignation of its president and creating a new figurehead role for its founder, even as it looked to fill other senior positions in the wake of a controversial decision involving Planned Parenthood.
