I live in Rocky Mount, NC and had all my treatments for my first BC diagnosis done in Rocky Mount at Boice Willis Clinic and Nash Radiology and then when my BC came back I decided to go to UNC.  Had suregery there and they are doing all my follow-ups.  I still see my first onc in Rocky Mount for tumor markers.

If anyone lives nearby and knows of a BC support group I would love to hear from you.

I wish you all peace.  Namaste'.

I live in Hayesville, NC, but have used Union General Hospital/Cancer Treatment Center/Doctors in Blairsville, GA.  I'm very happy with the treatments & services.  The doctors & nurses are very nice,  answer all questions, & most importantly return phone calls.

I live in Raleigh, NC and go to UNC Cancer Center, Dr. Collichio is my doc, orginaly one of her students/residents I think Finnegan had me for the first three months, until he finished his rotation and went to I think Charlotte, she decided to keep me instead of assigning another resident.

I live in Raleigh, NC and go to Cancer Centers of North Carolina in Cary. Dr. Signh is my MO and I absolutely love him, so does my DH. I have gone to him since my original dx of Stage IV in July 2010.

Would love to meet others that live close to me. Most of the women I have met and grown to love live in other states or countries.

I live in Murphy, NC and go to Ga. Cancer Specialists (Dr. Manfredi) in Blairsville, Ga.  Wonderful care and cutting edge treatments in a small town.  They've kept me going for almost 5 years!  Wouldn't trade them for anything.

I'm living in Winston-Salem, and my primary oncologist is Tiffany Traina at Memorial Sloan-Kettering in New York. For my monthly bloodwork/injections, I recently switched from Forsyth Medical Center to Dr. Lawrence at Wake Forest Medical/Baptist Hospital. At both local hospitals, I never see anyone young and female in the waiting rooms. Nice to see some friendly faces here.

Hi gals, I live in Durham and go to UNC Cancer Center. My oncologist is Dr Carey Anders, who is superb; she is kind, smart, patient, and really listens to my concerns. My best wishes to all NC sisters out there on this journey. Happy Mothers Day, and hoping you're enjoying this beautiful weather we are having today.

Wow, the weather has been wonderful lately!  Love this time of year in the mountains (even with the rain).

Dr. appt today.  Probably will schedule next PET scan as the last tumor markers were up (from 47 to 80 in a month).

Hey Ladies!   I'm moving to NC this summer.  I think around the Waynesville area.  Can anyone recommend a great oncologist?  I'm stage IV and so worried about changing oncologists!

If you don't mind the drive,  Dr Thomas Steffens in Concord is a great oncologist. He's been mine for 6 years and has taken really good care of me. I don't know how far it would be for you to drive, and I don't know how often you need to see your onc., especially being stage IV. Hes at Levine Cancer Institute at NothEast Medical Center.

My oncologist is wonderful but it would be quite a drive from Waynesville area.  Here is one in Asheville http://www.hopewcc.com/

I have heard pretty good things about this place.

Thank you ladies for the info!  Especially being that your both stage IV since 2008.  I don't even care about the drive.   Just want someone who will do everything possible to let me get my little one through high school!

Hey Tammy, I have a boy in 10th grade, so I know how you feel. I see an oncologist at Sloan-Kettering in NYC every 3 months. I have an oncologist in my town that I visit if there is an immediate issue, and I see a palliative care doctor every month for pain management. So I agree with you that distance isn't very important except for times when you need daily or weekly treatment. Wishing you the best of health as you make your way east and beyond.
