Alice - lol!!  The truth and nothing but the truth!

baldeagle - good to see you - I don't want to think about rads yet either.

KCB -  you are the second person I have seen in as many days to recommend that movie!  Glad you enjoyed it.

Indigo - wahoo on no Nuelasta!

Love - booooo on the port but wahoo on last TX!

Kim - yay that your dad is out of ICU - great news - best wishes for a continued recovery.  Hope you can skip out of work early.

lost - I have decided to carry my wig in my purse to use as needed on vacay, lol!  and on the shopping - I had to go BACK to town last night after all that.  I underestimated the size of oldest DD's feet - she wears the same size shoe as me now - so I had to exchange her shoes.  Then I decided a black sun hat wasn't the best idea in the heat and returned it for a lighter/straw one.

    must.pack.soon.

    Have a great day everyone!

Checking in here after Taxol treatment #2. ..doing well so far with minimal s.e.'s. all of my counts were low , of course, and onc said they would stay low throughout the 12 weeks. How is everybody else doing on their Taxol? Anybody that hasn't started yet, but soon?

It's hard to think I have two more months of this......yikes. I am able to start walking a bit now. Couldn't do that on the A/C. At least I feel a tad more human!

Anyone have any hair regrowth yet? I know I'm super early in asking, I'm just soooo anxious for some fuzz!

Whew, yes - today I think I could get out and walk, but last night I wasn't too sure!  I had a harder time with nausea/queasiness this time around. Frown  I am wondering if it's partly because my treatment was earlier in the day than my first two, so I also had my premeds a lot earlier, and maybe they were wearing off earlier in the evening.  I decided to take a compazine before bed, but that didn't work as quickly as I thought, and I ended up with a little spell of vomiting.  I do feel like I can't complain too much because I know lots of you have had a much worse time than that, but nobody wants to upchuck, right?  At least, I must have taken the compazine early enough before it happened that it did stay down because I did feel better afterward, was able to keep down my stool softener (I keep thinking I'll make a list of all these medications but I think it will be staggering).  Slept in this a.m. and feeling pretty good now!  Just kind of hot here today and I need to get some more work done, so I'm waiting until it cools off later.

Indigo - hope the day went better and you have a better night.

Sissy - glad you are doing ok on the Taxol!  I have some stubble that is growing out on my head - like down the center.  But everything I read on regrowth seems to say "soft" and this is just stubbly stubble. I think some of mine just never quit growing.

Can I be sappy for a minute?  I distinctly remember sitting at my kitchen table with my mom while DH and my dad were in the kitchen and we were all kind of discussing the plan after my first BS appt on Feb 22nd.  I was feeling slightly better and less terrified about things at that point but still of course very apprehensive.  Then my youngest - out of the blue - wandered in and said "so where are we going for vacation this summer?" and I just nearly lost it, thinking that my life as I knew it was over and I couldn't even process the question.  I remember meeting my mom's eye and her just saying something along the lines of we don't know and shooing her away.

And now I am halfway through chemo and we are getting ready to go on our family vacation.  And I am feeling pretty darn good.  I know I have a long way to go but I am so grateful to be here from where I was.

For those of you still going with chemo just know that you will make it to the last one and you will start feeling good!!

Now I can start thinking and worrying about my hair.

Hey all! Tx 2 went fine. Nothing but weakness and that's it. Actually have some stubble on my head!

Kam-I'm weekly so it seems easier than dose dense. 1 day of bone and joint pain. I can handle that.

Trail-lol at your DP! Smart woman! I was just in elk grove the other day when I had mt MRI done. Way to many people!

Well I'm off here to start cooking. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Kltb: that's a beautiful thought, about how you're coming through the journey (lack of a better word). You're doing it! Aren't we all amazing !?

    Love

Congrats on your last chemo!!  Speaking of hair, 6 weeks PFC and I have all over fuzz that stands straight up like static, pretty much all white, same with the underarm hair.  Not great but I guess its at least growing.  I have taken two pics a week apart and will continue to do so just to show myself that's something is in fact growing.

Thanks everyone! I was ready to give up after 4 but i'm glad i stuck it out.

Now im craving apple crisp! i will definitely use the microwave recipe...dont need to set my kitchen on fire again!

I had my 4th chemo a day early and my 5th 4 days late and i had stubble start to grow in. Im totally expecting to be wearing my wig for a long time because i look like a boy with short hair. I have loved not shaving my armpits so i might get the laser treatments on them...as long as it doesnt cause the dreaded lymphedema.

Also...my second muga that i had three weeks ago was exactly the same as my baseline so yay for that! I have only ever had slight anemia with my blood levels. My port was my biggest issue throughout the last 4 months. For the next week I have to 'pack' the incision with this silver felt stuff. They cant stitch it if they suspect infection. I could go get it done at the hospital but the parking charges are getting a bit redic...Im going to get my mom to do it. Hopefully she can get it stuffed in there without getting nauseous!! Im going to have so many scars by the time this is over!

Love - congratulations...what a milestone. Good for you!  I haven't kept up on all of the posts, but are you the first to finish in this group?

Myleftboob - I've had fuzz all throughout chemo and have wondered if this means the chemo isn't killing everything??  Have most become cue ball bald (i.e. not a hair on the head)?

Myleftboob was the first to finish. I didnt lose all my hair either...stubble all over and it has grown throughout treatment.

Now I have the aches... Sore throat, sore neck, sore shoulders, some odd shooting pains but nothing major, sore nails... Not happy about the nails. Tylenol is handling it so far. Discovered my body feels better when I walk. Just have to actually get up and do it.

Good morning ladies!  Hope everyone has a lovely day!  Off to the hospital to take my shift with my dad.  Heart disease is a terrible thing, long recoup period and seems so much of it is preventable!  Need to work on that!  Dont want that and BC!

    Cheers!

    Good Morning All!

Try not to laugh but..I found a hair on my leg!  Sad that this is exciting isn't it? It gives me hope that the head hair will be growing soon.

    Hi Love

    Congratulations on finishing your chemo!

Thanks so much for posting and for your words of encouragement to all of us behind you.

Great to see that you are on to the Herceptin. I'll be joining you but I have to get through 4 x Taxotere first, although I do start Herceptin next month too.

    Thanks again

Lostinmo: not laughing... But I never have lost all the hair from my head; it's at a #2 buzz and though from a distance I am totally bald, up close there is fuzz. AS there is in my legs! I haven't bothered to deal with the hair there since beginning chemo, and of course it has hung on as well (not entirely, but it's certainly not smooth and hairless). I guess we'll see what taxotere will bring on in that department.

Ugh! Taxol #2 has been worse than the first. Pain started on Thursday, but instead of getting better after that it got much worse. Saturday was horrific...in bed most of the day. This morning the nausea was horrible and I'm usually doing ok with that by today. Pain has finally given in some this afternoon. What a nightmare.

Got to pull myself together to go in for a PICC line bandage change in a few minutes. This has been one of those treatments where I didn' think I'd make it through....

Trailgirl: nasty nasty, I'm sorry to hear it. I've got aches too, but seem to be able to kick it with Tylenol extra strength, at least enough so that I'm not right out of it.

Food tastes crappy. So sad. Mouth like moss.
