Way to go Patti!!!!!
-
12 pounds in 8 weeks is excellent.
Keep up the good work! -
186!! (barely - it couldn't decide between 187 and 186 then settled on the 6.) I put in 186.5 because I figure that is more accurate but the scale only displays whole numbers. (And I wanted the extra 1/2 in case I don't do well over Easter!)
I LOVE WW! This has been so easy so far that I'm almost ashamed that I ate so much more than I needed to to get to be that heavy. I made my 10% goal today!!! -
Patti, KariLynn and All:
Got back a week ago from my babysitting in Chicago and Milwaukee - had a wonderful time. Grandbabies are really a blessing even though they do keep you hopping!!! Anyway, I'm back for now - even though I am going to babysit my granddaughter, Reilly who is 10 months old - here in Michigan for a week, beginning this Thursday. I am so excited to have her here and have been getting toys, changing table, food etc. all ready for her arrival.
Now for WW. I went last Tuesday (4/4) and decided to get serious here. I think I'm doing well this week but will find out tomorrow when I get on the scale. I'm determined this time so I hope it shows. I walked to 1/2 hour this AM since the weather is getting so nice. I plan to do it again tomorrow morning as well. I'm doing the Core plan so I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow.
Patti & KariLynn: you guys are doing great!!! I'm holding you both up as my inspirations.
Check in again tomorrow . . .
Blessings,
Pat -
hi everyone - well i joined the club but like all of us thought it would never happen to me! I was fitness instructor and nutritionalist !!! but was diagnosed with Stage 2B DC and DCIS and node positive at the ripe old age of 33. I had a mastectomy and node clearance and then 6 months TAC. I am now on Tamoxifan and am doing the am I aren't I with the menopause thing !!! So with that came an additional 12kgs. Which really affected my moods and self esteem. I have started walking along the beach 3 days a week (4KM) walk but just really recommend that if possible walk in the park or beach or somewhere that the sun shines and the birds sing - does make you smile. I was also recommended by a good friend to try the Herbalife products and have to say so far doing well 5kg is 6 weeks but my energy levels have really gone up. Even playing a game of basketball once a week now and running around after my four beautiful daughters. Anyway thats my story. you can find out more about the Herbalife products at www.herbie.net.au. this is not a promotion or anything it just really worked for me and i feel good again and i want to share it with you. Finding this site and having other people "like me" has made such a huge difference in how I am feeling about it all.
Big smiles and warm hugs to all or you can email me on jafergf@aapt.net.au if you have any questions
happy kilo kicking !!

Hi All Divas:
Well, here I am as promised. I weighed in on Tuesday and had lost 4.6 pounds . . . I couldn't believe it!!!! I was so happy and now am really motivated to "keep on keeping on." Of course, I know this is not going to happen regularly but it did give me the boost I needed. I still haven't got my exercise routein going although I did walk the other day. Seems with my babysitting coming up, I have alot to get ready - hope that's not just an excuse As I mentioned I'm doing the Core Program and I really do like it. I know it's not for everyone but it does work for me.
Waiting to hear from you all -
God bless,
Pat -
Pat - that's fantastic!!! I think you can wait on the exercise until you have the eating part down - a couple weeks won't change anything.
I just love WW!! Went shopping today and was able to buy clothes from regular people sizes instead of the fat girl sizes I used to have to get - very exciting!!
I'm trying to save all of my weekly allowance points for Easter Sunday but not sure I'll be able to - I get new ones every Monday and don't want to have to worry about what I eat Sunday!
Patti - where are you??? Are you having a good week? -
Pat so glad
to see you posting again
we missed you !! I bet those
darling babies are missing you already
You are doing great
AS you know
getting started is the hardest
once you loose the first few pounds
it gets easier!
I'm with Karilynn...
I love this WW...
Kari way to go girl..
It is a great feeling
isnt it
roll those windows down
sing me song!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
A friend emailed
this great web-site
a few weeks back
I have been meaning to share it here
http://www.hungrygirl.com/
Great tips and recipe ideas
Saving my points for Easter too
we are going out to dinner this year
so there will be no left-overs or dessert
temptations hanging around afterwards
I have weigh in tonight
so I will check in with
all of you later on

Kari: I've been a WW for many years now, lost 30 lbs and been at goal for a year now. My WW leader recommended something years ago for the holidays and I found it to be very successful. She calls it the "One Plate Deal". Be good during week and during the day of the special occasion. Then when you sit down to dinner, taking anything you want to eat as long as it fits on a standard size dinner plate (and not to high so you can't see the person sitting across from you). Don't worry about the points for that meal. No seconds. Just enjoy. I've found this technique very helpful.
Pat and Patti - Been a while since I've checked in here. Nice job on the weight losses. You go girls!!!
Happy Easter and Passover everyone. - Janet -
Patti, KariLynn and Janet:
Thanks so much for the encouragement!!! Yes, I love WW too and especially the Core Program. It really does work for me even though I know others (my daughter included) like the points instead. I say Whatever Works, right??!!
I have my 10 month old granddaughter here with me this week while her parents are away and it is such fun. We just went to the park and I sat on a swing with her on my lap. She was fasinated with a windmill that was going around - what their little eyes and imaginations are awed with . . . so sweet and so special.
Janet - congratulations on reaching your goal. I'm so proud of you. You are such a help to all of us here and I thank you so much for that. I like the idea of the one
standard plate idea and will incorporate that into my Easter dinner.
Patti and Kari: You guys are doing great too - and a real inspiration to me, believe me. Let's stick together and we can do this - I know we can. We've all been through much harder.
God bless you all and a Happy Easter and Passover to all.
Blessings,
Pat -
Ok, saving the allowance points didn't help!! I was 188 today. I don't think I can blame Easter because I was up Sunday morning.
I did eat what I wanted yesterday - everything was GREAT! Will get back on track this week.
Hope everyone's doing well - Kathy, how was your trip?? -
It's just a small bump on the road.
-
I hear all of you out there with this "weight gain". Between the day of my surgery (May 05) to now, I have gained 40 pounds! Chemo really put me over the edge! I joined a gym recently. I'll update you down the road and let you know if its helping. I have never been so heavy in all my life! And I'm frustrated. After I started the tamoxifen I gained 12 lbs. They took me off that and now I am on aromisin. And extremely fatigued. Anyone have any suggestions for the fatigue????
-
exercise is good for fatigue (of course it happens that way)!
-
It's a good scale day today!! Down to 183!!! I even did it twice to make sure it was right and got it both times. I'm very excited!!
I already hear the "you're too skinny" from my mother (I'm not!) Is a little annoying. I told her the chart says I should be between 135 and 170 - she said that's too skinny and those people look sick. I told her no, they look healthy! Oh well, like I haven't had YEARS of practice ignoring my mom (lol!)
I hope everyone is still "trying hard to lose the pounds"! I'm still loving WW and will until I hit 175 and they take two more points away! -
Yahoo KariLynn! Way to go!!!!!!
Since my plantar faciitis is finally getting better, I sure hope that my renewed walking will make some difference!! I hope, I hope!

Kari: Don't take the points away, no matter what weight you get down to!!! We just discussed this last week at my WW meeting. My leader says that if you are doing well losing weight with the points you are on, stay there. She said she has lots of members lose lots of weight staying at the points they started with. (I'm on Core so I can't say for sure.) However she was greatly stressing this to a lot of "points" members in my group. Good luck! WW is the best! - Janet
-
Great job Kari!
Mothers can be so weird!I'm glad you've had practice ignoring her. Keep up the good work.
It's about being healthy. -
Thanks Janet, that makes sense - don't fix it if it's not broken. I'll lower points when I get under 175 AND stop losing regularly. I don't go to meetings so appreciate any tips you pick up there.
WW ROCKS!
Kari -
Hi all,
Well I'm gonna take the plunge and join WW. I've never been successful at it and I think it's because I don't cook. Well, I have to learn to take better care of myself and if that means a little cooking I guess I'll just have to get on with it. Maybe I'll get to where I like it.
Actually I've been pretty depressed lately. I don't seem to have anything to look forward to. So figure out something positive to do for yourself, right??
I'll call when I get done here. Wish me luck.
Susan -
Carrie way to go

Patti -
Patti, I've been wondering where you were - glad you're still working with us. I've never been to a meeting - joined on-line and love all of the tools - I'm at the pc anyway, might as well plan my meals! I post my weight here every week because it makes me feel accountable, since no one sees it but the computer! I'll skip the Pepsi if I think I'm not going to have a good number to report!
Susan, I like the flex plan from WW because it has points for restaurant foods too. Cooking is not my favorite thing either so I like knowing I can eat anywhere, as long as I make good choices. Sorry you've been feeling a little down - DH is out of town the next couple of weekends or I'd suggest a little shopping in Springfield outing! Maybe I can make it down later in May - I'm going on vacation in early June and will need some new clothes for that! I know my mom would come with me - shopping would do it but Springfield would be a bonus!
Kathy - haven't heard from you since your trip - was it great?? Hope so.
Thanks Rose. love to get the encouragement, it really helps.
Hope everyone has a good week! We're FINALLY getting rain so that's the good news here.
Kari -
ok i just joined online
I needed to go to the initial
meetings but I am ok now
like you said kari it will make
me accountable -- plus I love the tools
and it is cheaper this way
so i am off to search ww site
xoxo
Patti -
Kari,
Very impressive weight loss. I happy you're making such progress. -
Patti - be careful, the WW site is addictive! I love the menu planner page and the shopping list you can print after you set your menu.
I went up after Easter too but got it back and am sure you will too! -
Kari...I have been on the WW
site for over an hour tonight...Yikes..
I will check in after weigh in
xoxo
Patti -
The best part about doing this at home is you get to weigh in naked!! That should be good for a couple of pounds right there!!!

Patti -
Well, I have just found the incentive to lose weight! I broke up with the guy whom I had been dating for 7 months and the thought of going out into the dating world is enough to make me go back to my usual dinner of veggies. I have been trying to find a "nice, normal" guy for 11 1/2 years since I got rid of my ex-husband, and have not had much luck.
Okay, now I will do my Pilates........
