-
Hi All,
Laura sorry for your loss. I will keep your friend in my prayers.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Mother's day.
Robin, it was so nice to hear from you and thanks for the congratulations. Katie and Ben are now looking for reception places, hope they find one soon.
Hugs to all and can not wait to see everyone in VEGAS.

I'm interested in the trip this year. Haven't followed breastcancer.org for a couple of years. Glad to find out what the timing is. Can anyone tell me what activities you guys plan at these outings?
-
PLEASE SEE MY POST AT THE TOP OF THE THREAD.
THANKS LADIES! -
Thanks Tracey for all of your hard work...we CAN be patient knowing you are working so hard trying to get this done...love you sister
Yes the bath area is great at Planet Holywood...plenty of room for 4 ladies to get ready!!!....even magifiying mirrors so you can see to apply makeup...I loved that!!....
-
libby, great that you are thinking of joining us....the activies will not be planned until later....just check back on here frequently
-
I find myself revisiting this thread frequently. I'm just not sure. I know no-one. I so want to reach out and meet others. I love Vegas. I love to get away. I so want to have fun and forget all this crap I have been going through for the last 7 months. I will be done with my major surgeries and treatment by then. I just can't decide.
So, at what point would it be too late to join in? I would like to stay with the group at the same hotel, but if I wait and that is not possible, can I still join the activities?
Oh, decisions, decisions..............
Even if I just pop in for a day or two?
Mary
-
SheChirple - so funny, I just replied to your ost on LA thread and asked you about this trip... lol, and here you are!
How many ladies can be squeezed into a room? I am trying to get a group together...
-
Shechirpie: You can squeeze four into a room comfortably, more than that and you will be too crowded. Each of us picks or winds up with four.
TRACEY: You rock girl..
-
Excited as usual about Las Vegas, but I am trying to help my sister get something figured out.
Ladies, is anyone from the St. Louis area? My sister, like me, has tested positve for the BRCA1 mutation and is considering a prophylactic double mastectomy. The Dr. she is considering is Dr. Cara Hahs, this is the surgeon. The plastic surgeons she is considering are Dr. Nathan, Dr. Macklin or Dr. Cabbabe. Any info on any of these doctors would be greatly appreciated!! Since I am now a stage 4, my gut says she should do what she can to avoid my situation as much as possible. Of course, we all know that a double mastectomy doesn't guarantee she won't get it anyway, but the percentages go from 87% to like 1 or 2%. Big difference. On the other hand, I am three years out from a double mastectomey with reconstruction and am still not 100% comfortable in my body and I still ended up with a recurrance. Thanks in advance for your help.
-
Cydz - send a PM to Whippetmom. She keeps track of good surgeons around the country and may have info on these names. She and her sister also did prophylactic BMX's (and hers turned out to be NOT prophylactic, so it was caught early) if I remember her details right. She will be able to help you!
-
Thanks Lilah!
-

-
WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I have been busy keeping up with our FB thread.... I have been MIA here!
Hi New Vegas ladies!!
THANK YOU Tracey for securing our rooms again this year! Have the battle/DONE!
EVERYONE THAT HAS BEEN IN MY ROOM, OR ADJOINING ROOM............... I will be booking the rooms soon. If this changes.... I will be in contact with NVDiane ( Diane)........ I will have the room or rooms booked by the end of this week.
I need to know... who is still going to be in the adjoining room....... and who is leaving that room.?? Please send me a message on FB letting me know.... or... contact NVDiane, and let her know who is going to be in her room for sure. I know of a new TATA that needs a bed.... so, if the adjoining room to mine is less one or two... I have someone.
Anywho.......... long winded I am, and very excited to see you all again! This is the first year........ in four..... that I have not seen ANY of you over this year....... I MISS YOU !
XOXO
Laura
-
Laura - I will definately be in the adjoining room with Diane!! If you need any info from me, let me know.
I will be driving again so I am bringing the hot water kettle and all supplies for those that like hot tea in the morning.
I am wondering if we should ask everyone to bring their own personal coffee mug with them as it is too difficult to keep enough throw away cups in stock for such a large group.
-
Hey All - this will be my first time attending - can you all give an idea of what to expect... activities, shows, partying... etc?
I am planning on bringing 3 other Newbies and we were all wondering.
Thanks
-
DM13 - the final plans aren't out yet on the activities but this is what we have done the previous 3 years.
Thurs night - pre-party for those that want to arrive a day early.
Friday night - Meet and greet
Sat morning - breakfast at Treasure Island
Sat night - New York New York Piano bar (we get the seated area)
Sun - Brunch at Bellagio (we get our private area - we have always gotten special reservations for our group)
Sun early evening - Freemont Street
Sun late night/early Mon morning - Good bye Party at the Mirage in the outdoor bar area.
The gals are working really hard to put all of the details together - it takes a lot of effort to get the reservation approvals, etc. This year we are expecting so many more people and I don't know how that is going to play out with working with the different casinos and them having room for us but in the past it wasn't too difficult.
Transporation is usually shared. We meet in the lobby at a specific time and we get the limos lined up. The limo rides average $10 per person which is only a couple of dollars more than taking a taxi. We have in the past hired party buses.
As we get closer to the date - the final arrangements will be posted but there is plenty of get together time - you pick if you want to attend any of the functions or all of them, whatever you wish as we do need firm head counts when the schedule comes out.
There is also plenty of time to drink, gamble, shop or whatever you wish to do and the gals are great about communicating what they are doing so you decide if you want to go with them. The downtime is very informal - some of us hang out at the pool - some of us love to drink and gamble. Not many of us sleep that I am aware of.
We will have morning coffee in a specific room every morning - everyone is welcome to join in - you wear your PJ's to the coffee room.
Estepp will put together a phone list with everyone's name and cell phone so that you can always be in contact with people from the group.
-
Jancie, what a geat schedule for the newbies and all to remember. I am getting very ecited about this trip. It will be great to meet all the new Sista's joining us this year. VEGAS here we come.
Hugs all, Cheryl
-
Cheryl - I have no idea what the schedule is this year yet but just wanted the newbies to get an idea of what we do. Of course what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!
I have to say I am super excited to be going again! Oh and I forgot to mention the last couple of years we went over to The Venetian and had reserved tables for this awesome band that plays! We may have reserved tables but 90% of the time we are on the dance floor!
Planning Committee - is that in the cards for this year? Anniese - do you have an update on the Venetian?
-
What are the dates again?
Thanks!
-
Tori - it is the last weekend of September. Maybe someone can come on here and give you the exact dates. I would hate to give you the wrong information. We start on Friday and leave back to go home on Monday.
However, there is a group of us (which gets larger every year) that have decided that waiting until Friday is too short of a time in Vegas so we come in on Thursday. There are some that stay up to a week but I won't reveal their names

-
Thanks Jancie...I'll keep checking back...
-
Exact Dates:
Sept. 28th-Oct. 1st!
Ladies, I am going to attempt to book our rooms... I will post this on our FB when I have achieved this task.....:)........ I am really busy at work today.... so if you are waiting until I book.... to book yours close to the " coffee room"... it might be late into the day. As soon as I book.. I WILL POST IT ON FB !!!!!!!!!! I also, will post it here later in the weekend.
LOVE LOVE LOVE !
-
Hi everyone - and welcome to the new ladies!
Jancie - I haven't heard from anyone about booking anything for Friday night. Don't know if things are just not that coordinated yet or if the main planners have different ideas for this year. I did read that the place we were going at Venetian is presently closed for remodel (I think they open up again in August) - and that the band that plays there is currently performing in a club in the Palazzo instead (right next door).
-
Janice - thanks for filling me in. Sounds like a blast!
Also, was looking for the FB page and cannot find the right one. If anyone wants to friend me on facebook then send me page, would appreciate it: Dawn Marone.
Thanks,
-
DM13 - send a PM to Estepp - she is the one to contact to get on facebook.
-
I'm in!!
Will book my room tomorrow. Want to be near Laura's coffee pot if possible. If I drive I will bring wine in case there is anyone interested......
Giselle, anything that you need me to help with?
xoxo
