It totally depends on the pathology. If your cancer is HER2+ve, then I would seriously consider chemo as this type is extremely agressive - same goes for triple negative. If it is hormone receptive ER+ve and or PR+ve hormone treatment probably should be considered. If your lymph nodes are clear and you are not HER2 or triple negative, then the docs may not recommned chemo, although the size seems to play a part in this.
You would be brave to have chemo if required.
Good luck with the surgery.

Yes, we will see what pathologist say after surgery.
But anyway i would not like to live my last months or years width sidefects from chemo, rads .I saw how much suffering was to my sister and mother-in-law.
They trusted doctors that chemo will help to live long life, because it was an early stage....but after few months of deasy head, womiting, etc they died. That treatment didnt help.
So i choose to die (if i must to)in sober head and not poluted with chemo and rads.
I would like to talk with somebody who did it and feel ok now.
I heard many cases that people do that but nobody personaly was sharing expeience.

I've had chemo and 2 lots of radiation and I'm absolutely fine 2 years later. My cancer was HER2+ve and even though it was really small I didn't want to take the risk of not having it.

Himalaya, seeing two relatives die after having chemo must be very scary. Unfortunately, to ask for individual experiences would be highly unrepresentative. Since the majority survive without recurrence, it proves nothing about individual treatments when any one person survives. They may have survived whatever treatment they had after surgery. Only large studies can show the risks and benefits of any treatment.
On the chemo section of this forum, each month a new group forms a thread and friendships grow. They would know if anyone went missing and find out if it was the chemo. As far as I know it doesn't happen, it's very rare. Your relatives may have had other health issues that made a difference.
Fear of chemotherapy can be overwhelming due to all the negative publicity. When I found out I had to have it I cried for a week, and I'm not one to cry. I dropped out after 2 rounds as I believe the studies for my cancer (Er+ lobular with Her2 Neg) show little advantage. But my long term results will prove nothing. If you're not having rads then you'd be better to have MX rather than a lumpectomy.
You're neither brave nor silly, just working out what personal risk you're prepared to take. Unfortunately many judge and condemn and you might find it better not to let anyone know if you decline treatments as some people think that no chemo means certain death. Once work colleagues and neighbours find out it spreads like wildfire. Most know little about the many types of BC and think either everyone dies or it's easily cured.
Similar questions have been asked before and no one comes forward as the threads get full of anger and even abuse. I hope they're all kind to you.

All I can say is thoroughly research all your options, find a really good naturopathic oncologists to help you and follow your gut. If you make life altering decisions solely based on fear or blindy follow the reccomendations of smooth talking posters on this forum, chances are you'll make a mistake that cannot be corrected.
