I was diagonised with breast cancer in 2009, had a lumpectomy and again in Oct 2010. I was told by my ONC that if I did not go for chemo immediately, the cancer would spread all over in 7 weeks. I went to see my Npath and together we worked out a cancer plan with alot of research and supplements and in August 2011, I had the 2 lumps removed, then went for a CAT scan and a blood test and they could not find any trace of cancer. I attribute it first to GOD, my faith, mindset and a strong desire to live. The body is designed to heal and if given the right 'weapons', the body can repair and healed itself.  Please email me if you want to know more julhall@hotmail.com   Arimidex and Tamoxifen are not the answer.

I am going to an onc soon, my GP told me not to tell him I will not do chemo.  That is why I was refused by three  cancer centers and two oncs so far.  I will undergo a full battery of tests to determine NED or not.  GP just wants to know where we are, worried about lymp and bone metz.  I hate the invasive tests, but will probably do this.

I want a nat onc though, one who will know what page I am on.

My integrative md, I cannot afford to keep going for treatments.  I am bummed and scared.  It is unfair that I cannot get disability yet cannot work, drive, think straight enough to remember much about my former work.  If I could work or get disability I could afford my tx.  But will haveto depend on ins to pay this now, and need the right kind of drs to help, I am very picky and frightened at this point.  My standards for care are for gentle and do no harm.

With the change to this website, I somehow lost track of this thread, but just came across it again tonight.  MsBliss, what my ND has ordered is a Complete Hormones/24-hour urine test (I've had them twice now, 6 mos. apart) through Genova Labs.  They're pricey (depending on your insurance coverage), but they give an incredibly detailed account of what's going on with your hormone.

Hipline, the integrative doctor I've seen @ UCLA is Dr. Mary Hardy.  She's excellent, especially when it comes to supplements and diet, but she doesn't really get into hormone testing.  And I totally agree with Ms. Bliss' thoughts on what she got/didn't get from Mary Hardy.  $350 (which is not covered by insurance) did seem a bit steep for a lot of readily available information.  But at the time -- immediately post-tx -- everything she told me was very reassuring, even if it reconfirmed a lot of stuff I already knew.

debuncktiou, I'll PM you the name of my ND, who is in So. CA.  If I didn't post this above, here's a link to an organization of naturopathic oncologists:  http://www.oncanp.org/   There are so many naturopathic docs in CA, I was kind of surprised at how few naturopathic oncologists there are nationwide.          Deanna

Hi - glad to have found this thread and esp the recommendations of naturopaths in Victoria. I live on Vancouver Island - further up island, but will likely be going to Victoria to see a MD onc and for radiation. I've just been diagnosed and I'm having surgery tomorrow locally.

Curious, for estrogen testing do they test levels at different points in time? I had mine tested recently for infertility and I don't think it was out of whack, but I'm sure there are lots of cyclical variations that can't be measured by one test.

There are no Naturopathic Oncologists that I can find in New Jersey.  I am quite surprised.
