Essa--you are absolutely right in your assessment of weight loss in the presence of cancer. That nurse or medical assistant should have known better. Weight loss for unknown reasons has it's own ICDM-9 code because it can be an indicator for NUMEROUS diseases---cancer , thyroid, depression, mal-absorption syndrome , response to medication----on and on and on. Always should be evaluated for origin of cause.

I lost 23 lbs. with my Bc and then 30lbs. with Dh's cancer. I had to deal with the same stupids that said I looked so good. Yet I'd just come through hell. Cluck'em.

At least the nurse/ma got it, that their questions were inappropriate b/c she was crying. Perhaps in the future that person will try to learn more of the significance of what the question means i.e that it's clinically significant and assume nothing about the person. I have a word for such stupid comments "blather". You said what needed to be said---you were right.

veggy - happy happy, joy joy

Sas - the morse code because mine sounds just like one of those morse code machines and there are long rings/dashs and short ones.  Too bad I don't know morse code because maybe I'm receiving subliminal messages from beyond.

Kingir. I so understand now. Yes you are right.  You Must read those links. Your morse code will make so much more sense. Sinse i first posted about the music , my tinnitus has kept changing. I'm in another period of silence. Why , no clue---loving it.

hugs Essa.  My MO's PA is a woman who sounds like the person you had to deal with.  I keep hoping she will just GO AWAY!!  About the weight loss, I'm so sorry to hear.  I hope things end up being OK for you.

On the same note, my DIL kept talking about how proud she was of her mom as she had lost so much weight - until they found out that she had lung cancer, that was.  She died a few months after I was diagnosed.  So sad that people can be so "proud" of someone losing weight, as if having weight is such a bad thing.  I'd much rather be plump and healthy than thin with cancer, and I'm certain that's the choice most sane people would make.

Oh man Essa, I feel for you. But you said the right thing, I am very impressed. I am finding I have less and less patients with dumb people. I have always spoke my mind, never worrying about what people thought. But now its worse , I'm finding it harder to control myself. I appreciate your sensitivity though, I feel like that a lot lately. Cu-dos to you !

I feel like I 'should' be more kind, like I should kick myself around the room for being too dramatic.   But then I have seldom said what I think though DD and DH would disagree LOL.

Onward to get some work done, if only.  On my new protocol all I do is drink and pee I think.

OOOOOOH THE STUPID PEOPLE!!!  I am so proud of you for delivering the truth to that nurse!  It ought to be put in a manual and delivered as training!!!  On my 3rd round of AC I was sick as hellllllo....and not friendly.  The Doctor that was the Fellow for my ONC decided to see me on her own - wrong patient on the wrong day....She asked me the standard questions but this time I answered thru my teeth and everything felt horrible and I was so ready to throw in the towel with that Chemo Deal.  She says to me, "Well, at least chemotherapy is better now than it was 20 years ago."  And I replied - through my teeth - "HAVE YOU TRIED IT???"  My DH grabbed my knee and squeezed a little.  I think he thought I was going to get up and smack her.   I feel terrible about it now but I just didn't stop myself at the time - she's a lovely woman but I couldn't handle another stupid comment.

I brought her Dunkin Donuts on the next visit....But seriously!!  When they know/see/hear that we are irritated/ill/worried/sad or whatever, roll with it and do not disturb the waters....we will bite.

And then go home and PUFF PUFF PUFF!  And a CLUCK CLUCK CLUCK and a PUFF and a CLUCK!!!

Sorry...my DH just made me a GIANT bowl of vanilla ice cream covered with chocolate drizzle and covered in hand chopped nuts....OMG let the rush begin.  I have no idea why he did that but...MMM MMM MMM MMM MMMMMM

All of you Veggy , Fuzzy, Alyson, Maud  yeah for smart people that recognize the stupids. Love the pics. Sas--may be mia computer virus. Ears are changing hourly,  better than a dual roar. Essa---can't believe we missed the lead in line for receiving messages. ABBOT and Costello could have had a field day with that about Morse code.
