Recurrence - now waiting for all the scans
this just really sucks. I had my brain MRI on Friday and will have CT on Monday along with a bone scan. Then we will discuss treatment options. Sounds like AC with Herceptin but onc said he wanted to think about that so not 100%. I am HER+ and we assume ER/PR- as before but results were not back yet on that.
cant do rads to underarm again since I had that last time.
what turned out to be 3 positive noduels which they thought was scar tissue is such a bummer. vascular invasion along with nerve endings were test and positive as well...so I feel pretty screwed and my days are numbered.
I have a 2 1/2 year old and this just isnt fair.
Sorry need to vent. Thanks for listening.

Good news, brain MRI was clear. I just busted out crying right in the waiting room at the hospital waiting for my PICC line.
I had a horrible day today thou..went at 8am for a bone scan and CT scan. They spent 1 hour 45minutes trying to get my IV started to do the CT scan. OMG. The imaging gals spent an hour and the chemo girls spent 45minutes. I was poked 10x with a 20 gauge needle. They then sent me for an emergency PICC line. Got that went back and got the bone scan and the CT scan done. They were able to inject the stuff for the bone scan straight into my vein. I finally got home at 115pm.
The bone scan guy said I had just a couple of vertebrea that should maybe a little something but probably from my previous back surgery but other wise nothing jumped out at him!
I will get all results tomorrow when I see the breast surgeon. My MO is out of town so I see him next Tuesday to get my treatment plan but does look like AC

I hope everything comes out 100% clear, Allisontom911. My wife had an MRI of the chest and abdomen done yesterday (Monday, 5/21) and this Thursday the 24th she'll have a bone scan done, and then shortly after get the results.
I work nights from 11pm until 7am, and I'm usually asleep by 9am, waking up around 4 or 5pm, but since all this started again I've had insomnia. I can't sleep until 1:30 or 2:00pm and then I'll awaken at 4pm and feel wide awake and not be able to get back to sleep. It's been like that since discovering the recurrence. If all the scans are clear I'll hopefully be able to relax a little.

Sorry Allison, things have been pretty rough on you. I've had a PICC line put in and about went through the roof, not fun! Poor nurse felt so bad. I hope you are getting a limitless rest and some help this week? I also have a 2 year old, almost 3 yrs end of July (and a 4 yr old). It can be exhausting under best of circumstances! Take care! Good news on your scan!
