Hey hey hey Seven years from Stage IIIC , Her 2 pos BC!
Hi all.
To my dearest Stage III sisters who has traveled down this road with me, and all you new and relatively new ladies:
It's been 7 years since my Biopsy ( I was offically dxed on May 23rd, But I never had alot of patience)
I had hideous prognosticators; 12 pos nodes 2 of which were totally replaced by tumor, lymph and vascular invasion, lobes involved, paget's of nipple, NO clear margins after mastectomy , and oh yeah for the icing on the cake ; er /pr neg, and Her2 Positve!! Blah, blah, blah, blah......
I am a nurse and the only thing my poor onc could do was hand me the path report to read and hold my hand.
I responded with " Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t, Oh Sh*t" etc, etc, etc.
Definitely not a good day, but ultimately a HUGE life changer
Fast forward:
I am healthy, living the life. enjoying a new Granddaughter, richer relationships, living in Paradise and truly living large!!
I have dedicated my "New Life" to providing assistance to women with disease. I know I am blessed to be doing this, as BC has coursed through the veins of all my maternal family.
I have learned that if we don't grab onto the Day's joys , we wil never get them back; When I was dxed 5 family members cried that I would die before them; They are all gone and I am still here.
I thank God everyday for everyday , and always have a good belly laugh as well!
There is so much joy in the future especially when the future is not so certain!

Thanks for the awesome incouragement. I've had my port out for a week now. I can always tell when I'm talking to someone who's been up close and personal with cancer. They see the port out and do a happy dance! I'm not a nurse, but after my first meeting with my surgical oncologist got the "dang she's smart" added to my chart. They started using very specific terms etc. cracks me up.

Linda - SUCH a day-brightener! You remind me again how important it is to be grateful - I have a hard time remembering that as i get caught up in my day-to-day lockstep. How poignant that you are now grieving some of those who once grieved for you. I remember thinking that I wouldn't outlive our new poodle (and B.B. King of the Blues is now a vibrant, healthy 7 1/2!). Last year we adopted another dog that was diagnosed with cancer a few weeks after she found us - so my husband now has TWO survivors in the household!
Love to all - Julie
