My ALP has been high for awile now in the 145-150 range. My onc did a liver ultrasound and a bone scan and both came back negative. I feel fine. Now she is pushing for me to go to a liver specialist. My other liver counts and GGT are fine. I'm thinking it has something to do with the hydrocodone, avivan and all of the chemo drugs.  She said it's been high since June 2011. I had my mastectomy May 2011 and expansions. Started the chemo in July. I am now on Herceptin every 3 weeks.  The Herceptin will continue until Aug 30th.  I would just rather wait and see when the Herceptin and other drugs are out of my system if it comes down.  I'm not in the mood for more drs and more tests. It's not like it's really that high. What does everyone else think?

Mary Beth,  your plan makes sense---waiting until you are done with Herceptin.

My alk phos increased to 149, slowly since I completed chemo 1 1/2 yrs ago.  Other liver enzymes were normal.  I had an US of the liver, which was OK.  I am on Arimidex and elevated alk phos is an uncommon side effect of Arimidex.  Monitering the lab for now.
