Waiting for results of re-excision

WOW, has anyone else suffered severe bruising and pain after a re-exicison? Also had 2 nodes removed and was injected with blue dye. I peed blue like I ate a smurf for several days lol.

I don't remember much of any of it, go back to the b/s on Friday. He did the re-exicision because there was a small margin area on the under side of the sample where a minute amount of cancer cells were found. So instead of just taking a larger margin from the outside perimeter he had to go in deeper. (ouch on the final healing results) especially under the armpit area. Looked like I had been kicked by a Clydesdale horse. BUT am healing nicely!

Anyone have any feedback on re-excision margin results, positive/negative?

 Also, on the removal of the 2 nodes and the dye. Is the dye supposed to "lite up" infected nodes or just show the locations?

    The dye just shows the locations.  I had two nodes removed because those were the ones that lit up.  I had a tough time with pain after the re-excision.  Much more so than the first surgery. Hope you are feeling better soon.  Ice packs did help.  I had to have a mastectomy, but my margins were not as clear as yours were. Sounds like your doctor had a clear vision of what needed to be done.  Good luck and keep us posted!
