I scheduled an appointment with my PCP. That will be Monday. I have to find a Dermatologist. Then my PCP will write a referral for me. I am far less stressed about it today, but it needs to be checked. I'm really tired of doctors though. I'm sure you all know what I mean.
Have a great weekend, and happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!
-
You're doing better than me, Dune, at least you'll see your regular doc who can give you a referral. I don't have one. Long story. Yes, Happy Mom's Day to all. GG
-
Want to wish a Happy Mother's Day to all.... I will not be home to do it tomorrow..
I called Thursday to make an appointment with the eye doctor and then called for a dental appointment. Figured I would have to wait a few weeks to get in. Nope, eye doctor appointment the next day (yesterday) and the dentist next Tuesday. Usually you have to wait weeks to get in for a cleaning.....
Been over three years since I went to the eye doctor and boy can I see good now... He had to change me prescription a lot. Course some of the change he said came because of chemo and some was just getting older...... Went to eyemart express and got not only glasses but also sun glasses. My first time ever having prescription sunglasses.. I love them... Got the 2 pairs for about 10.00 more than another place was going to charge me for 1 pair...
Ok hope everyone has a great day.....
Cindy -
I too need to go to eye dr for new glasses, luv frames I have now so won't bee too pricey.
A belated cheers to all. And Happy Mother's Day too. May we be radiant no matter what. My best Mother's Day was planting the garden w daughter when she was in high school. She teased and said she was going to dig to China to get out of it. But we had fun. Tomorrow we are going to deliver some of her weekend paper route. That will be fun.
-
Happy Mother's Day everybody
-
LOVESSA, you are a cutie pie in the avatar. Took me one-and-a-half hours, yes 1-1/2 HOURS to wrap Mom's gift. My hands aren't what they were from the chemo-induced neuropathy I got in my fingertips still. At least they aren't as bad as my feet. Actually, it looks like I wrapped it with my feet! Hahahaha. But it's wrapped BY GUM and I am DONE. GG

Happy Mother's day to All. Love SAS
-
I hope everyone had a nice mothers day and is feeling well.
So a week or so ago I had the big fight with my sister about not coming. Now my brother in law unfriended me on Facebook. Its not the end of the world or anything since i was getting sick of looking at his pictures of food every day, but nonetheless, its rude. You don't unfriend your family.
My last fill is tomorrow. Whooo hooo. One step closer to my exchange surgery!
-
Lauren. Sounds pretty childish to me that he unfriended you. What happened to talking.... woohoo on your last fill tomorrow. You must be so glad to be that much closer to being done.....
I had a wonderful Mother's day and hope everyone else did too...

New Body Part Malfunction: musical ear syndrome--auditory hallucination. Risk factors hard of hearing, tinnitus, depressed, lives in quiet environment, can be induced by drugs(no list available). Tinnitus since 1998. Roaring at first then after progressively getting softer over a year(1999) settled into evening crickets. Some times softer than other times. Definitely prefer the crickets to roar.
Tinnitus changed after surgery. Figured it would settle down in time.
Today around 8 am. started hearing music while sitting on the deck. Thought it kind of rude to be playing music that early in the morning. Go inside musics still playing--Duh realize it's in my head. Throw key words musical tinnitus in the computer. I'm a classic case. So, I have crickets on the right, and swing jazz--big band era on the left. Why couldn't it be some beautiful classical piece. May be I can will a station change.
-
Crog hellooo---how are you feeling. how is the leg doing????
Lauren--cluck'em
-
Well it's moved onto New Orleans blues-----Pretty cool, actually a really great sound --heads a bobbin
-
Hi SAS. I am doing pretty well. Leg is doing good. I am still working on my right foot to get back to somewhat normal walking... I just have to remember that is going to take time. I am not a very patient person but have become better since breast cancer diagnosis...
Wow music anytime you want it or maybe at times you don't want it huh!!
Have a great day everyone!!!
Cindy -
Sas - crazy! Last night on House they had a 19-yo pt who had been hearing his dead little brother's voice for over ten years. In his case, however, they found some sort of growth in his ear that was causing it. Believe they actually called it auditory hallucination!
-
You are not alone! Oh wait, that was just a tv show
But you aren't alone because we are all here and love you. I still hope it goes to calming white noise type stuff at night to help you sleep and stays on music you like during the day. I wonder if what you think about affects what kind of music you hear, or emotions do...sorry just random thoughts I'm a little out of it today.
-
TT , MP and Cindy, music turned off a short time after post. The last was some really cool blues. The big band music was not cool too many horns. Now absolutely silent. Rare. Still have crickets in right ear lol's. When it first started in 1998, it was both ears then went to right for sometime. Same as House. If tinnitus is on one side it can be a neuroma on the 7th cranial nerve which is the auditory-vestibular(balance) nerve---so was given a MRI with and without contrast at that time. Didn't know about musical tinnitus/hallucinations till this morning. Can be voises or other noises too. Teresa, don't know about emotions affecting what you hear, but it slowly trasitioned after I kept thinking I didn't like the big band. The web site I found my info on was really a nice person very informative. The things my body teaches me Ugh.
Crog very happy that your left is doing well. Hope your physical therapy helps right. Are the tendons tight?
-
SAS. Yes the tendons are tight. I have exercises to do to try to loosen them... It is a slow process.......
Cindy -
Does Nyone have a good, long lasting diet to recommend? I'm looking pretty hefty these days and I should have a new body to go with my new boobs...
Had my last fill today so I'm excited. However, I'm in excruciating pain. I took at Vicodin at 5:30ish and a Xanax about 15 mins ago. I'm waiting for something to kick in... -
My BIL tried to re-friend me on FB. I askedmy sister why he unfriended me and she said she didn't know he Dixie going to not accept and play stupid childish games. I'm allowed to have some fun too!
-
((((((((((((((((Lauren)))))))))))))
thinkin of you.
-
lauren - the South Beach diet has worked well for me in the past. It is basically lean protein, lots of vegetables, low glycemic - no fruit, no dairy, no pasta, rice, bread, etc. That combined with daily exercise will normally take off 5 lbs the first week, followed by 3 lbs. each week thereafter. There are no portion restrictions, so you can eat until you are full and snack on stuff like almonds. I had no problem following it - I am trying to do it now! My vice is coffee, I just don't use any sugar in it, but that is my only rule-breaker.
-
HEEEEEEEYYYYYYLLLLLOOOOO!!!
I'm a little behind...so sorry about that. I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! I mean...everyday is Mother's Day so....I hope all of you have a wonderful EVERYDAY!
Thank you for toasting....I musta toasted a little too much and maybe a little early...shitstorm will continue at least for a little while...updates will be coming...but not til next week! In the meantime...toast with water, chai, booze, urine from the tiniest tribe in Africa...whatever ya got! Hee hee
Oh...Teresa...honey I'm so sorry. How are you? I mean really. There will be a time that your boy recognizes that shit doesn't always go the way we want it to and he will have a hard time forgiving himself for behaving the way he is. Good for you for saying NO. That takes the strongest of the strong to do - and it was right for both of you! I'm totally impressed. I hope this doesn't sound horrible...but he hasn't grown up yet. I only say that because I didn't either...until I was 35. I finally realized that I am responsible for everything - I do not have the right to judge anyone. And, if I get pissed off, I chose to get pissed off and I am responsible for everything that happens after that. He will learn this at some point. It's not a bad thing....it's just how it is. I remember how I thought I knew everything at 16...when I was 25...26....27....LOL!! I finally figured out I don't know anything and that is WAY less stressful! Be a peace with this - you are perfect.
Sas my dear....I'm a frickin whack job. I meant to call you a hundred times and I would like to invite you to call me....LOL I can't remember anything and I feel terrible about that. But, if there is any group of people who understand that more than ANYONE...it's here with my beautiful family of sisters. Call anytime please. XOXOXO
Speaking of crappy memory....I can't remember all the posts I wanted to respond to.
Veggy angel face - how ya doing sugar pie?
Where's the pocket bus headed this week? Is it ok if I drive myself just this one time? FUZZY WENT CRAZY TODAY!!!! In the best best way.... here...let me show you...
Yes....I bought a trike!!! I know I shouldn't have....but it's way too late for that. LOL I love it. I love it I love it. I thought for sure my DH would be ticked off because....I really should not have done that....but he was THRILLED! Told me it was the most awesome thing he has ever seen and I totally deserve it! I about peed myself. I was on it all night. I was so bummed when I couldn't ride my moped anymore after surgery....well, just add another wheel and VIOLA!
Hey...it's a two seater...I could pick someone up? GG, Crog, Nancy, Lauren....anyone? Ready for a spin?
I've heard good things about the diet Special mentioned....just saying the word makes me want to eat ice cream though...LOL
I love you all......love love love love love!!!
-
Love the trike! I'll go for a ride with you anytime!!!
-
FUZZY, you are something else, girl. Ummm, don't think I want to ride in the side seat, I'd be absolutely terrified. So, we know everything by 35, eh? Hahahaa. Well, it's true, we reach a kind of plateau of ignorance, where it seems like we got the trick, but noooooooo, it's a forever learning thing, my friend, my dearest friend. I loves you so much, Fuzz. You are my friend to be sure.
SASSY, I'm glad you got the music down to blues in your ears. Ye gads. I have a directional hearing thing, don't know from which way a sound is coming. Yup, I could be dive-bombed by a Mitsubishi Zero on December 7th, 1941, and I'd be looking the other way!
FOLKS, I am extremely pissed off becuz I have to go to the grocery store today. I don't know about you guys, but it's hell in there. I have lean all over the cart becuz my feet hurt from neuropathy and fractures and whatever else is going on in my legs and lower back. SIGH. At least I got it down to every two weeks, and once in a while husband will take one of those for me, so it gives me a month at home. Now, I know you all are busy bees, but NOT ME. No suh! Don hit me, masser! Don hit me no mo. If I've offended anyone, it's all in good fun, I love all my sisters, whether they hear things, buy motorcycles on a whim, have giant boobs but need a diet...
LAUREN, how could I forget, I know an excellent diet. A college student was picked up a couple weeks ago with some others by the DEA and kept in a cell and forgotten for four days, no water, no food, no lights, no toilet. He went crazy, but he lost 15 pounds in four days. So, if you can recreate that situation, hey, you'll be done in three weeks! Hahaha. I'm just so silly today. Love to my sisters, GG
-
AWesome, Fuzzy! Love the trike!
Sas - glad the music got turned off. Really weird that you could change your type of music, tho...
dogeyed - sorry the grocery store is such a battle for you. Hope you can get in and out and home to rest! I'm one of those for whom automatic doors do not open fast enough (c'mon, c'mon, c'mon...), though overall I'm really laid back!
-
Fuzzy that is such a neat 3 wheeler. I will go for a ride anytime you want to pick me up!!!!
Cindy -
Good morning!
Sas...I'm a little jealous!!! My 18th concussion caused ringing that never stops....I love Blues music!
GG....oh I would shop for you! Don't they have shopping wheelchairs you could use? Or ask a clerk to help? Oh sweetie....good luck! I LOVE your funnies today!! No apologies in the Romp Room! Its freedom here ya know!!
I'm taking the Trike on a road trip today!! Its a little chilly but....gonna do it anyway! Headed to the zoo in Madison and then to see my mama. 75 miles to the gallon and all day.....to quote an artist I can't Think of right now, "oh my my...oh hell yes...." -
P.S. I need a name for my little ride...any suggestions?
