Rads area newly sensitized

Options

I've been finished with rads for just over a month. My skin healed nicely, so I've been back to normal bras part of the time. However, over the past couple of days, the treatment area has started turning red and itching like crazy. It looks and feels about like it did at 3 wks into treatment.

Do I need to wear sunscreen under my clothes? Could it be a side effect of tamoxifen? Will I be destined to wearing training bras forever?

Shycello, The redness and itchiness could be caused by anything. My advice would be to call your RO to rule out anything like cellulitis which is an infection that requires prompt attention.

As far as wearing regular bras again is concerned, it took months before I could wear anything but my loosest, oldest bras. I am pretty much back to wearing most of my regular bras again, but there are some that will just never fit comfortably any longer.

Good luck. I hope you will feel better soon.

I would suspect cellulitis as well. I had it several time before anyone called it cellulitis.

Drink lots of water & you need to take antibiotic.

If you start running a fever or it spreads dramatically go to the ER. NJ
