Just saw LE sleeve on TV
I was just watching Austin City Limits on PBS and noticed that Jenny Conlee, piano/ accordian player with The Decemberists, was wearing a black sleeve on one arm (no glove or gauntlet). I looked up the band and found that she was diagnosed with BC about a year ago and is now in remission. I didn't find any mention of LE or sleeves so don't know if it is precautionary or if she has LE.
First time I've ever seen anyone on TV with a sleeve.

Garnet, the Decemberists have a discussion forum; if you or anyone else is a member you might give her a shout out and see what you can discover. LE lacks a spokesperson, y'know?

Just a thought,

I was thinking the same thing, Binney. I don't "follow" the Decemberists--was watching ACL to see Gillian Welch. I did go to their forum to see if I could find any further info but didn't sign up. It was past my bedtime and I was tired.
Any Decemberists fans on this list? Thinking an LE overture/discussion might be better received from a fan.
Though I definitely liked what I saw and heard so can now be considered a new fan!

Garnet, Suzy had me check out Gillian Welch, and I looked up some youtube videos--like Miss Ohio, and really liked them. I don't know the Decemberists, but it sounds like I would like them and a major shout out to anyone who wears their sleeve while performing--and is not a basketball player.
I vote that that Binney contacts them--she always knows just how to phrase things.
Binney????

I like the Gillian Welch songs I have heard, and I did see a little bit of her on ACL a while back. If you guys like her, are there any Eilen Jewell fans out there? Love her stuff, and I have enjoyed her live shows. I like American roots/rock or whatever they call that hybrid kind of music. Ooh, and Alejandro Escovedo knocks my socks off. His music is all over the place; he's been around forever but not well known in mainstream.
I have heard of the Decemberists but don't really know their stuff. I know they get played on local station. Yes, Binney has such a nice approach. Binney? You game? -
Can't say I'm a fan, since I've never heard them play, and I'd guess a fan would be the best to approach them. Somebody who could throw in some honest raves would be able to pose it best. Garnet?
Actually, if she heard from several people it might be even better. We do need to let her know that her example is really appreciated by all of us.
It's funny to think we're discussing this on a public forum that can be searched for her name. For all we know she's already a member of bc.org.

It's on You Tube, she's mostly shown towards the end of the clip.
