We went to dinner two nights in a row now...Met one couple we had not seen in ten years last night and I had crab legs...i know it is really not to be added until cycle 2 but I could not resist ...but I did only eat a little bit of butter and had grilled squash and broccolli as my side (NO potato or bread) Tonight we met another couple we have not seen for over a year (both couples had moved out of state and were passing through) Tonight I had grilled tuna and broccolli so that was not bad.

I'm still at the 4 pounds but I have been slacking on my green tea.  Not doing bad on the water drinking but I agree with you all the potty trips are the pits.  Not doing bad at work....but next wednesday is a birthday party for one gal so that will be a hard day..the stuff they are all bringing is way off this diet but there will be salad & fruit so I'm hoping I can resist the rest.

You are all doing great!  OHHH Blessing that sounds painful.

Keep up the good work everone!

Happy Mothers Day to all! Beautiful day here!

Finally the scale has moved. Down 9 pounds total. It has been going up and down a pound two but has been stable at the 9 pounds the last two days.

Only 3 more days and I can move to cycle 2. I'm anxious to add oatmeal and a burger on the grill now and then:).

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers in this group.

I finally feel like I'm back in the swing of things on the diet, hopefully the results will show that as well.

You're all doing so well, it's encouraging to me! So, thanks!

Congrats to you all and Happy Mothers Day! My boys made me pancakes and eggs for breakfast. Luckily the pancakes were whole grain with hand picked wild blueberries from out own blueberry patch (last summer). Rounded it out with green tea and just filled my water bottle for the day. Holding steady at 10 lbs. if I don't lose at least 2 lbs this week I'll be headed back to phase one after this 2 nd phase.

Hi Kathy! Cookie monster. Good for you. WE are all in this together. Very comforting!

snobird how sweet and sounds yummy! Tenaj. Back at ya! Today I had a nice brunch at Sons house. We all took something. Daughter in law made most of the meal and set a beautiful table for us and her parents. I was pleased to see yogurt and fruit and bread less egg casserole. She is a keeper. ( I fudged a little also and had two slices of bacon:)

We are all doing so good. Hoping a few of the others pop back in to "see" us soon.

Went for a long walk today ( about 4 miles) listening to my book. Boys cooked me a great dinner and my hubby took me for a sunset cruise out on the lake this evening. One of the best Mother's Day I've had in a long time.

Hope you all had great days also.

Someone brought donuts and left them in the xerox room. I was in there today, but kept my self control in tact and did have one, then I went to the lobbly and there were MORE donuts. I managed to resist again - I'm feeling pretty proud of myself today, so far. This weekend was good, but not great food wise - I didn't eat a ton, but I didn't eat all the stuff I'm supposed to eat only. I'll keep at it and hopefully the scale will move a bunch on Thursday.

Keep at it ladies, keep walking/biking/swimming/insert your favorite exercise here!

Hello ladies, hope you enjoyed MOTHER'S day. It's quite difficult on these kind of weekends. Sounds like everyone did fairly well eatting. Don't worry Kathy, those 2 lbs will come right off....you have something so happy to look forward to, it will make it easy. Can't wait to hear about the wedding.

Nana, glad to hear your endurance is better. That is soooo important. You are doing great, keep it up!!!!

CookieMonster, sounds like everyone likes to eat at your job. Stay strong!!!

Snobird what a wonderful weekend you had. It is so important that we live every day & enjoy life to its fullest.

I had a great weekend with my son & his girlfriend. We took a 7 mile bike ride on Saturday & ate very well. Salad, yogurt, chicken & fish. Found a great recipe for cooking bass on top of spinach in a foil pocket & cook on the grill. Sunday I wasn't as good. Had some pastry & manicotti & 1 slice of pizza. Oh well....I was up about 11/2 lbs this morning. But I'm right on track again.

I'll be thinking of you tonight Kathy, enjoy dinner tonight. Lots of water!!!!

    ((((hugs))))

    Janet

My boys cooked me a lovely dinner of grilled venison loin, steamed brocoli,  sauted onions and smashed sweet potatoes. I treated myself to a glass of red wine and some dark chocolate for dessert. Got on the scale this AM and I didn't lose but I didn't gain either. Packed up my goodies for the day to keep me honest. I'm glad I don't have co-workers bringing in all kinds of stuff so I don't have much temptation until the icecream stand across the street opens up. Then LOOK OUT! I am really craving some good tomatoes tonight. So sick of the meally ones from the grocery. Grilled chicken cesaer salad tonight with lemon vinigrette and fresh parmasean. Yum!

Dear CookieMonster, I had to chuckle, because on every corner of every street in Torrance, CA there is a donut shop and I love donuts, good for you in resisting. I love to walk and do the elyptical, ride bikes and the stationary bike. I did the elyptical and stationary bike today and took a long walk. AteamNana, thanks for your encouragement, yep I will do it. Thanks to you, Tenaj for the reminder of water. I will let you know how it goes tonight!!!! Hi,Snobird, you have a great family, the dinner sounds so delicious!!! I hope I am as good as you tonight, We are going to a Mexican restaurant, and I love Mexican food. Hugs to you all!!!Smile

I'm interested in that fish on top of spinach in foil on grill... that sounds really good.  I grilled chicked breast on the grill and then cut up mushrooms/onions/carrots/yellows squash/garlic wrapped that in foil and cooked them on grill also.

It was very good.  I branched out a little and put some cayanne pepper on the chicken and in the veggies..just a little since I'm not a pepper person but both were very good.  Wednesday is the big food day at our office ...a birthday party ... I'm gonna have to fast on tuesday and thursday..hahaha.

They did have slushies in the afternoon today and I DID resist....so all in all not too bad.

I have not been brave enough to step on the scales again after the weekend:)

Keep up the good work everyone..I'm getting ready to head out for my walk!

Way to Go ATeamNana! Just remind yourself that slushies are just high fructose corn syrup in water with artificial flavoring and coloring. If you have access to a kitchen and a blender just take some frozen strawberries without sugar, lemon juice from 1 lemon, add some ice, club soda or seltzer plus stevia or agave and make your own slushies. I guarrantee that they are better than the store bought ones. and they are better for you too. Add some vodka and you have a delicious cocktail.

The chicken sounds delicious. I'll have to try it. I find chicken so bland sometimes.

Snobird I like the way that cocktail sounds :-)

Nana, the recipe is: olive oil brushed on foil, pile of spinach, top with small amount of chopped shallot ( i also added a bit of crushed garlic)salt & pepper, drizzle with olive oil or small pieces of butter, put fish on top, salt & pepper & drizzle with a bit more olive oil. I also squeezed some lemon juice on top. Secure foil completely closed & cook on grill for less than 10 minutes. The spinach really cooks down so don't be afraid to use a bunch. It was the first time I made it & would make it again.

Sounds delicious Janet.. I cooked some spinach in a skillet the other night with some mushrooms and garlic...it really does cook down I thought I was making a lot but not near as much as I thought.....hahaha

Snobird...I also put some olive oil on the chicken so it wouldn't stick to the grill.  I have been amazed at how many things I have been eating and drinking that are loaded with high frutose corn syrup.  I bought Hunts catsup that is labled right on the front no high frutose corn syrup.  I made some BBQ sauce with it.  If nothing else this diet has certainly opened my eyes to what I have been putting in my body..ugh....I do have a blender..but I'll pass on the vodka not fond of alcohol..never really acquired a taste for it...but the rest of it sounds really good.  That may be my night snack one night this week:) I'll have to see if I can find some sugarfree cherry syrup...cherry is my favorite.

    Hi...Kathy & CookieMonster...

Hey AteamNana, just use frozen cherries and agave syrup. Defrost in microwave and mix with agave syrup. Mash a couple up and let sit for a few days. Then keep in frig. I also make a delicious cherry, chocolate banana smoothie using frozen cherries, sugar free chocolate protien powder, plain yogurt, unsweetened coconut milk and bananas in a blender. It also makes a great ice cream if you put it in an icecream maker. My blender is my friend ;-). I try not to buy anything that is manufactured. ( but ketchup and mustard are in my frig. Though I buy organic). I even make mayonnaise when I need it( not much) but it is easy to make in the blender.

Some of you probably think I'm nuts for trying to stick with whole foods. I thought it would be such a pain too when I started, but I just started with breakfast and threw out all the boxed cereals, gave away the granola bars, stopped buying coffee cakes and only stocked real oatmeal( no sugar added) that you have to cook, eggs, yogurt, oranges and a variety of frozen fruits to make smoothies with. If I wanted breakfast that is what I had to eat. I do bacon or sausage on the weekends if I'm in the mood. I found it so easy ( ok, maybe not as easy as dumping a box of cereal in a bowl) and much more satisfying and filling that I didn't miss the other crap at all. I've been avoiding the oatmeal while on this diet but if you don't have time to cook it in the morning you can make it overnight in a small crockpot and divvy it up into smaller servings (I use tea cups), wrap and refrigerate. Then in the morning you can micro and add nuts and fruits to your liking.

Today's exercise is finishing up moving our son and Liz. They bought a new table and we are picking it up and putting it together. I did do my LE exercises this morning with weights. Have a great day, everyone. Hugs to all!!!!!

I will have to go to a bigger town. We have no frozen cherries in our little grocery stroe;(

I looked for cherry flavoring but none of that either. So snobird thanks for the great ideas I just have to wait until I get to a larger grocer or perhaps Walmart super center??

Thursday I move to cycle 2. I don't think I will add bread back in my diet since my husband has celiac he can't have it and I have learned to do without it:). Kathy sounds like you are going to get a good workout moving furniture:)
Have a great day tomorrow everyone!! Marsha

Hi everyone. I was supposed to walk at DS' soccer practice, but traffic was so bad that we got the half an hour late, and by the time I headed out, I only got about 25 minutes of walk in. I suppose that was better than nothing, but I was not happy about it.  Food wise I've been good and am hoping that Thursday's date with the scale will go well.

It's interesting to hear all of your recipes. I'm not much of a cook, I love to bake though, and have taken cake decorating classes even. Haven't done much of that since BC diagnosis, it sort of took over my life, well that and working, and having a 9 year old kid. HA! Anyway, I do like to hear what others like to eat.

Today I've been a big klutz too, not sure why, hopefully tomorrow will be more coordinated - I get to go on a field trip with DS' class tomorrow! He's very excited.

Have a great Wednesday tomorrow - keep positive and doing what you need to do, I know it's going to be a challenge for some of you. Stay strong!!

Well girls I bit the dust yesterday and had a few pieces of veggie laden pizza and got no exercise :(. It poured rain all day and I worked late and didn't feel like cooking when I got home. My Bad. This morning I'm off to take an hour and a half yoga class which is in a town an hour from where I live. I haven't done any yoga in 4 years. This ought to be fun, right! I've decided that Wednesday's are my day for doing things for me. Starting with yoga. I have a pedicure planned after that, some shopping a dentist appt.:-(, and a walk.

    Have a good day everyone.

What a nice day Snobird. Enjoy....I am a beginner at yoga & do simple poses at home. I got a gift certificate for MOTHER'S day for a mani/pedi, I am sooooo due!

I am back to my pre-mothers day weight this morning, down 4lbs, 7-8 lbs in all. My clothes are fitting much better, not down a size yet.... I was really good yesterday at work. I am in computer training this week & they ordered pizza for us & I didn't have any. That would be a 1st for me. I LOVE pizza!!! I brought in my homemade cabbage/veggie soup that had ground pork in it & peach/nonfat yogurt. Doing pretty good with the water. I need to get better with the exercise. It's been raining so I've missed my bike rides. I did plant my vegetable garden on Monday. Does that count??

Have a wonderful day ladies!!! Keep up the good work!!

Sounds like everyone is making good choices..(most of the time..haha) myself included.

Today was a birthday party at work for one of the gals...they had crockcock pizza, nachos and salad and cheese garlic bread.  Coffee cake and fruit for breakfast...

I ate a 1 inch square of coffee cake/fruit and had my yogurt.

I did eat two small pices of nachos and at a very small scoop of the crockcok pizza and had salad.  Took my own salad dressing and No bread...so far I'm feeling pretty good about what I had..I've been slacking on the water and I can really tell....gotta get back at it.  So far I'm still down 9lbs total.

Clothes fit better and have more energy so I'm gonna carry on:)

I am envious of the pedicure...I want one badly....have never tried yoga....love computer classes...CookieMonster...25 minutes is good...hope you have fun on your field trip....

ATeamNana your are doing so well!! Nine lbs is fantastic! Sounds like you you did good with not over doing at your work party. It can be so difficult at work. They ordered sandwiches for us today. I skipped my soup & had 1/2 roast beef sandwich but I only ate have of that bread. I did bring my yogurt & peaches for a snack.

The weathered cleared late this afternoon so we took a 4 mile bike ride. I have noticed I have a better endurance on my bike riding & treadmill.

CookieMonster, hope you had fun on your field trip. Where did you go? I really miss those days when the kids were younger. I was a very involved parent & was extremely lucky to be involved with my kid's education. Good luck on your weigh in.

Kathy, you must be getting so excited about the wedding. Are a lot of people attending?
