Hey Sally. Sorry to hear. It's a scary place to be but you will get through this; day at a time.
Did you know you posted this in stage IV? Don't worry if you didn't because the boards have got so confusing with the new look.
You'll probably get more sympathy on another board - most of us on this one would be happy with your diagnosis (sorry - not trying to minimise your distress - its just the way it is)

Hey sweetie,
You are posting this on the Stage IV section. You might want to find somebody in the Stage 1 or II section to help you with your fears. Trust me, grade 3 doesn't mean you will recur, it just means your cells mutated faster. Your tumor is only 1 cm so that's a good sign and it's not in your nodes, another good sign. YOu have herceptin which works for a lot of women. You should find the boards where women with your stats are who have NOT recurred, it will give you a lot more hope than we can.

Hi Sally - I was dx in 2008 with a grade 3 (9/9) tumor - also Her2+. This dx was terrifying for me, but 4 1/2 years later, here I am, doing well! What treatments have you done/are currently doing? Herceptin is a great drug for Her2+, and you have positive elements in your dx: relatively small tumor and clear lymph nodes.
Wishing you well!
-
i am having taxotere and cyclophamide with herciptin
thats great xx -
There are MANY long-term Her2+ survivors here (most grade 3), Sally. And many, many more no longer post on bc.org because they're out living their lives, such as a few of my facebook friends from the taxotere/carboplatin/herceptin thread.
Your fear is certainly understandable (oh yeah!), but your dx also is full of hope.
-
sallyyy - the upside is that chemo seems to work better on rapidly dividing cells - grade 3. Your tumor is small and you have no nodal involvement, so that is good news too. All of this is scary, but hang in!
-

-
Well that sounds good no lymph nodes, what you having done now
-
My hormone receptors status estrogen and progestrone negative
-
sallyyy.....What the DR is recomending? Biopsy or wait 3 months and check again.
I know it's a very unsettling time........
I also got Herceptin when i was first DX......♥
-
What is your HER2
-
My HER2 +
-
Sorry I see you are HER2+
-
What's the plan
-
Well i am currently taking taxotere and cyclophamide with herciptin
-
How is it going? I couldn't take Taxotere because of very bad side effects. I had 5 of FEC and 1 of Taxotere I have just finished chemo.
-
Hell yes it makes me quite tired but it is the a very small price to pay for life .. Good luck xx
-
I wanna ask something is it bad to have ER,PR- ?? With HER2+ ?
-
You will be fine, Herciptin is very good and has great results.
I'm worse than you I only have 60% ER and the rest is neg.
Having a grade 3 cancer works very well with chemo, I can't feel my tumours now I have done so well. -
hello everibody,
I'm in the same grade 3, no nods, er+, pr+, no her, but I had LVI ( repport after surgery in Jan)
is anybody with LVI ? thanks
-
You mean with LVI lymph vascular invasion if yes so welcome me too have it
i dont know what does it mean ? And how dangerous is it
Good luck xx -
hy sally, that means we have a local invasion in lymph vessels and/or blood vessels. it is dangerous in the samne degree with the node involvement. I don't have nodes but I have the local invasion ...the same thing almost
good luck.........
