Missy, my mom had 6 treatments with that chemo combo and she had treatment every three weeks. I suspect your mom is getting 4 weeks between each, because her cancer is not as advanced/aggressive.

My mother did get tired while doing chemo, but she never puked and she usually rode her bike to and from chemo. She was 69 at DX.

Exercise really helps you feel better.

Diana, I have ILC and they started me with FEC, which is apparently a rather nasty chemo as chemos go. The FEC was neo-adjuvant and shrunk my giant tumor down to some miniscule remains. After the surgery I had taxotere.

I was Dx at 45 in 2002 with ILC, stage1, ER+, PR+, HER-, 0/1 node, and since the biopsy revealed dirty margins for the 2cm, tumor, opted for mastec. with immediate TRAM reconstruction. I don't think oncotype testing was availabe then. Received CMF chemo (dr. said it was optional) and at the time radiation was not given for those with mastec. Didn't lose my hair but fatigue was a biggie. Followed chemo with 5 years of tamox, then Femara.

The chemo threw me into early menopause and 5 years of hot flashes!

Things sure have changed over the years. Hoping you all the best medical treatments in the world!

By the way, my onc. uses MRI's and occasional PET/CT's.
