Bonfire of the Goddesses

babysandpiper - Welcome to the fire. If you have a lot of pamphlets, etc that need to go into the fire, we can help you. The fire does need some fuel and it sounds like you have it. This fire does wonders in making us feel better so toss in any thing or any one you want to.
Nancy - Rude people are not worth the time or effort. At least you have a place to get rid of those feelings - it is never good to carry around that kind of baggage.
-
Nancy - I am doing much better but still have one drain. What a literal pain in my side. Hoping to get it out this Friday. Back muscle is still tight but to be expected as I am 3 1/3 weeks out from surgery. Already went back to work last week - half days and then I spent most of my time in front of my computer. Work slows way down in the summer and that is why I waited until most of my residents had left to go North for the summer.
Where are you heading out to? I must have missed something. It is hard to leave our four legged babies but I am sure you have a good sitter.
-
Nancy - I think I am able to be so functional this soon is because I did not have TEs or implants. PS just relocated some muscle and on one side. Really nothing to it. This is after having 2 surgeries - one on Wed and the other on Thurs. I tend to bounce back fairly quickly and sometimes don't know when to pace myself so really have to watch that.
Enjoy D.C. and I'm sure Boo will be okay. I know how they tend to not eat when we are gone. Boo will be so happy to see you when you get back.
-
JO, WOW,THAT WASN'T A MINOR SURGERY YOU HAD. GO GIRL.
-
Hi been reading to catch up with the thread. Was five pages behind so didn't read all of them for certain.
So, I'm back and onto the fire I throw MOVING BOXES! and all the stuff I didn't get sorted and ended up moved to the new house and now I have to sort here and either send back to other house for barn sale or onto the bonfire. Soon, when we are done with the sales, I will throw the other house on the bonfire too.
omg omg OMG I bought a fancy European chocolat bar this morning at the Dollar Store of all places. Forgot I had it in kitchen until all the mentions of chocolate.
-
Nancy - I don't know about being strong. I just can't see lying around the house when I feel good. I do listen to my body and do rest when it tells me.
I just had a PM from Granny and she asked to let everyone know that tomorrow the doctor will determine if her son has a brain tumor or anyerisum. She will try and stay in contact but the computer she has does not work well where she is. She asks everyone to continue praying for her son. If I here anything more from her, I will let everyone know.
-
I will pray for Granny's son's well being. Thanks for the update, Jo!
-
Thank you all for the warm welcome! Today I'm throwing into the fire my procrastination! I used to use my vitamix or juicer every day to incorporate more fruits and veggies into my diet, and now I keep putting it off. What the heck! I am going to get back on it today and make myself a delicious pear/banana/spinach/blackberry smoothie! My best wishes to all you lovely ladies today for a healthy and good feeling day! And prayers for those who need them!
-
Welcome babysandpiper (love that name, btw)! Cheers to you and pass the smoothie! Keep the fire burning bright.

Spider bites should be looked at. Most spiders do not bite but ones that do can make you sick and some are poisoness. My mother was bit by a brown spider once and had a rash that looked like ringworm rash. She also got sick. This type of spider is venomus. Be careful, spiders are usually not agressive and only bite if pressed upon, like if they are under you clothing.
Good note about spiders, they eat all the other nasty insects. Think twice before killing one.
-
My skin is crawling with all the talk about spiders. Ugggh, hate them! And yes, spider bites can be quite dangerous. Definitely talk to your doc!
And into the fire with spiders! (Yeah, I know they do good stuff in the environmental web of life...just...ick!!!)
-
All this talk about spiders..... I am personally in favor of most of them, but in the garden. I absolutely LOVE looking at spider webs that are glistening in the morning dew.... admire the beautiful patterns of the webs, of the coloring of the spiders .... but truly do NOT like to find them crawling in my house!!!!
-
Hi everyone!---I have glasses on!!!. Have caught up on reading and caught some of my posts Hmmmm. Thank you Benjamin Franklin. Just think if the world had to put up with my or anyone's continuous writing without glasses as the usual.
Into the Bonfire goes the changing of eyes to less sightedness-whoosh---burn
Spiders have a useful purpose only out of sight and out of my personal space. Otherwise, I have my spray bottle close right at the lenai door.
-
Let's toss all those people who ask "are you back to normal yet" duh...how can you ever be back to normal when both of your boobs are in the garbage somewhere...some people are just plain stupid....into the fire with them...lol...
-
After I read all about the spiders I went downstairs to the kitchen, looked up for some reason, and there was a spider on the ceiling right above me. Ack.
-
barbiecorn - ba-ha-ha!!!!
-
OK, I had a little spider visit me in my shower this morning - first one I have seen in my bathtub since last year. SO:
-
Sheila, so glad you can see again! Now watch those flames leap higher and higher!
I need to sit by the gentle fire with you all for a bit - need to soothe my anger and just be with friends - am just tired, frustrated, still have pain, haven't felt truly good since first chemo in Oct. 2010. Just want some peace and rest. Thanks.
-
Sitting by your side Linda---sheila

The fire is magical...I'm joining you all!!!!

Hi all! I want to throw in the surgical drain that is literally a pain in my left side. Had LD flap surgery on one side 3 1/2 weeks ago and I am so sick of the drain. I had two - one was taken out last Friday. I continue on with the other one hopefull until Wed when it will come out. I have had to turn down so many invitations to do stuff because of it. The biggest one I had to turn down was going to see Air Supply in concert on Mother's day. I love Air Supply and the tickets were very reasonable. GRRR!!! The upside to all this is I am loving the results and now have two matching boobs. The lumpectomy took more of my breast than I thought.
-
Air Supply!!!??? What a blast from the past! But honestly... I am so happy for you that you are happy with your symmetry! I am celebrating too with the symmetry on my feet! Back in a PAIR of matching shoes! Now that it's Friday nite.. I think I will kick them both off now and enjoy wiggling and warming my toes by the fire with all my friends!
