If you look at the background color of the OP - that is nice and soft to the eyes. It is the responses all in this white that is bothersome.
Surely a switcheroo could be made?
-
Oh and thanks Athena and TimTam for helping me out with this. I was able to make some improvement which is awesome.
Now I really need to get back to my vacuuming as DH is coming in from out of town so I will check in later.
-
My post is in bold because bold print does not seem to have the same headache inducing power as regular print does. I think there may be a clue there as to what the headache problem is. Not enough contrast?
-
Funny you mention that rosemary-b...because your all bold post (to me) is more difficult to read. Kinda makes the letters "blur" together.
-
Back to the top works on some threads and not others - doesn't work on this one but I used it a few minutes ago on another thread - now that is interesting.
-
susieq58 ......The same thing is happening to me

Ladies....this is like going to a new Supermarket...where you are not use to where everything is located....but after few trips you start getting familiar.........
I didn't like it either when i saw the new format..I even made a joke Moderators gave me a Birthday Present...because it was my Birthday.....I wanted to return it
3 days later my eyes got used to the new Format.
Thank you Moderators for providing us this place.....♥

Hi all,
Thanks so much again for all of your patience. We are working on a "round 1" update to fix some of the stylistic issues (color, font, spacing, etc.) which should start rolling out soon. Stay tuned, and thank you!

-
Overall the font is too big - too much spacing - you could see a lot more posts per page before - any chance of making it a bit smaller?
-
Back to top now working on this thread - maybe an intermittent problem
-
Jump to Bottom continues to work for me but not Back to Top.
-
No thank you Mods.
-
Did something just happen...like 5 minutes ago? Everything is really squished in the topics sections. I don't like it. It was fine before.
-
I love the pale blue background color for the headers
-
Oooooo. I do too! Nice addition!
-
Moderators...New format for ACTIVE TOPICS look very organized.
Thanks
-
I see that in the Active Topics, you guys have put the forum before the name of the latest poster. I really appreciate that. Can you now make it larger than any other font? It still hides. It is so easy to accidently intrude into stage iv. And I am cognizant of not wanting to... What about those who don't even realize that there are separate forums? For newbies, this is not big enough...IMHO.
Claire
Edited to add: someone on another thread, I can't remember who suggested the forum be above the thread title and in larger font...it looked really good...
-
Yes, more changes to the site have just been rolled out, based on member requests and suggestions. We look forward to reading what you think of the evolving look and feel.

Why is DCIS, IDC and Less Common Types, listed 6 sections ABOVE LCIS, ILC, IBC, Mixed Types and Male BC? Those of us who are LCIS, ILC, IBC, Mixed DX or Men also deal with Stage - but our DX is not considered to be equal with/to DCIS, IDC or "Less Common Types"?
-
I see you've also cut the number of sub lines beneath each topic (in Actives) from 3 to 2. THANK YOU!!! That's so much better!
-
Looks much the same to me - only Active topics seems to have changed - all still too big and spaced out
-
Nice improvement to condensing active topics.
-
Hi Mods..
Is it really necessary to have the time (so big, too) after the date when a thread was started?
It is just another annoying and unnecessary thing to have to read. Could the time be omitted, please?
-
Just switched around the order of the types. Mod Judith is on tonight.
-
Hi Judith!
I posted at the same time as the last mod.......did you see my post above?
-
Mods -the OP has a wonderful light blue background yet all of the responses are on that glaring white color. Can this be changed??? Sure is more gentle on the eyes!
-
That is interesting that some of you are seeing the glaring white..but some of us see beige tones. Weird.
-
Thank you so much for the order change BUT I have another suggestion. IBC was put between IDC and ILC - why not put it after IDC and ILC? IBC is 'rarer' than either. Men who are BC are very unique so could they be move up a bit?
-
Oh, good grief. I logged off around lunchtime (CDT), thinking everything here was going swimmingly. There had been lots of feedback; plenty of tweaking and adjustments were made; the site was looking good. I was getting used to the neutral look and was especially thrilled that the page formatting (page layout) had started behaving properly on my screen (gray column, blue nav bars, drop-down menu).
NOT.
The page layout has reverted back to where it was 2 days ago -- the back-up mode, I think; the one for people with substandard browsers. I now see full-page text (lines run margin to margin) and the wonderful blue nav bars are gone. There's just that sorry blue "Menu" button at the top of the page. I'm beginning to hate that Menu button. Too many mouse-clicks.
Also, the soothing beige/gray background color I was seeing for the past day or so is now a washed-out off-white. I sure hope it's not my eyes going bad.... (Sorry. I'm whining.)
Aaaaack! Two steps ahead, one step back? I eagerly await the next suite of fixes.
This is otter, signing off with Firefox v. 3.0.19 (yeah, I know...) on a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.4.11.
ETA: ALERT! ALERT! Now, even the breadcrumb trail is missing from the top of the page. Jancie, is this your fault, because you tossed your cookies???
-
Folks, I'm outta here. The only functional button left on my screen -- the only button or link that will take me anywhere off this page -- is the one that says, "Log Out."
