I hate to have to ask this but... I think it I time I seriously consider this.

I am not sure if it will simply be to have someone else push far enough to find lost reports, or access to medical files that have been signed for but never released, etc. etc.

I really hate to be at this point but I think I need the infomation so I can weigh my options here and I doubt I am the first one to go looking for the information so I wanted to ask here before I start the official search.

Please understand that I am asking this after being advised by friends in the medical profession, as well as other Doctors to consider consulting a Lawyer.

Before the lawyer route, have you gone to Ann Cavoukian, the information and privacy commissioner?

I have the PHIPA forms, as well as the information on the information and privacy commissioner. I considered that route, but do have copies of most things.

It's really coming down to likely needing a Lawyer because the information is not just failing to be able to be accessed, but beyond that there are missing reports. I mean not able to be found within the system.

From what I am getting I am being told that a Lawyer may be able to go beyond, and request that more action is taken.

I hope that makes more sense.

It does make sense. But since we have regulations about access to health records I would think that getting the info and privacy commissioner to sic her investigators on this would be cheaper and way more fun. It really makes 'healthcare professionals" anxious when they are subjected to outside scrutiny that has enforcement in law.

*chcukle* This is true... Then again from what I know it would not be something I could follow as closely.

I'll think on this a bit more.
