Cancer Funds Used for "Commercialization Proposals"

Interesting article- I wish I knew what was covered under the "commercialization" catagory.  If it is about marketing instead of research, that would indeed be outrageous.  It's hard to know if the scientist is upset because of the where the money is going, which might have some legitimate uses, or if he's upset because his review group has been bypassed.

 My son is involved with administering government grant proposals for California, so I'm going to show him this article and see if he can explain it to me.

 Thanks for pointing this out.  A cure is going to be very slow coming if we leave it to private industry to do the right thing rather than doing what's profitable.
