Tink - I can already tell you the last drain is NOT coming out tomorrow.  I can't get past 50 ccs in a 24 hour period.  Still draining a lot at night.  This is getting so damn frustrating.  Had to take a pain pill this morning which I hate to do.  It is sore and I can't put a dressing on it - the tape once again is starting to make my skin blister.  UGH!!!!!!!!

    Hi girls,

so many of you could use a healing HUG so here is a big ONE FOR YOU ! ((((JUNE, JO, Tinks and whoever else is in need)))))))

I have been quiet, very busy with my daughter's senior year of HS and my son is on 2 lacrosse teams so I go from field to field everyday.  But is is all good and exciting and keeps my mind busy for the most part.

Hate this new format.  I have several nodules on my thyroid they want a biopsy of one.  I am not worrying...... still waiting to get an appt for over a month with the endo.  RIDICULOUS, I am figuring if anyone was concerned I wouldn't be waiting ~

Everything else is good here, my broken leg is finally feeling better and I am walking in FLIP flops.

Jo hope you stop draining soon, those drains are a B*&CH !

Have a good day all ~

    :)

JOJO your pic is blurry but not upside down.....

Alicia honey thanks for the hugs you were so missed......spend as much time with your kids because in no time they are going to be gone and if you are anything like me, I think I will DIE without the constant craziness in my house.  But lucky me that is a LONG way away.  I am so glad your leg is doing better, just in time to show off those pretty toes.

Jo I think it is time for major drinking this weekend as you must be beside yourself by having that stupid drain still in there.  I hate that you still have to use pain meds, how very frustrating.  I think TInk should fly here and pick me up so I can give you a hug as you so need one and I could benefit as well.

Love ya ladies and the sun is trying to peek out now.....yipee!

June - Sounds like a plan to me.  I could use a drink or two.  I will find out tomorrow what is going to happen.

JoJo - Your pic is sideways - head is to the right.

Alicia - Thanks!  I needed that.

Lol JOJO you are sideways.  I do know for a fact that you werent that way this am.  I did a quick lurk before I had to get ready for work and you were just fine then.  Thats weird.  I totally agree with the gals.  We do know our bodies and when something just isn't right we can tell.  Oh and if I hear one more time its cause I'm gettn older, Im gonna go postal.  Really now I didn't feel this away up until I had BC come into my life and **ck it all up!!  So sorry about the rant.

((((((((Tink))))))))))  I will scope you out some man candy when I get home and settled in tonite. Of course you know JO has some man candy she can she with us all, lol!

Sherry I found that after about a week I was back to sleeping the way I did before I started the sleeping aids.  I love it to because I can stay up past 10pm, lol!

Hugs for you all this afternoon!!!!!!!

Alicia good to hear from you.  Being busy with your kids is a very good thing.  They will be gown and gone before you know it.

Jo-rats on the drain.  Please keep us posted.  I think instead of pain pills just drink.  From what I hear it is suppose to be a better pain killer anyway.  You can lay up in your recliner and have DH bring you one after the other and maybe he can put little umbrellas in them. haha

    Hi Ladies,

I finally heard back from my onc's office regarding my body aches, joint pain and leg/feet cramps.  I was expecting that she would just want to draw blood and look at my electrolytes and such.  But, she wants me to go off the Tamoxifen for 2-3 weeks and see if I feel any differently.  I hope that I get some relief from the night sweats as well.   I really need a good nights sleep.  I wonder what she will want to do if I am better after taking a break?  Any thoughts?

Jo, so sorry your drain is still producing.  I have a funny story about drains.  I had already had my first drain removed at week one and we were at the week two check up.  My husband made the comment to my doctor that "she is not putting out much anymore".  Of course he was referring to my drain..... My doctor, without missing a beat responded, "neither is my wife!".

1openheart - OMG!  That is way too funny - the conversation you had with your doctor.

Hope the aches/pains go away with the Tamox break.  This is a frustrating little white pill.  It does reek havoc on our bodies.

Tink - I am ready for the pocket party.  Hope I can find a comfy spot where I won't get bumped much.

Sherry - I like your idea about drinking instead of pain killers.  Can't decide what I would like to have.  LOL!

I haven't bene on in a while but I wanted to share something with you all! I stopped tamoxifen about 5 1/2 months into it and have felt so guilty for it but just couldn'e take the side effects. Last month I sat down with my oncologist and re ran through the NEW Adjuvant online which includes her2 status and Herceptin therapy which I had both of. He told me that Tamoxifen in my particular case of stats only gave me a 1% benefit, certainly one he did not recommend. So there you have it! Each patient is different but if you are her2+ I strongly suggest you ask your doc to go over the NEW adjuvant program with you and really assess your stats. It gave me the peace of mind I had been searching for. On the same day, however, he ordered a biopsy of a lump I had found on my mastectomy side about 1/2 inch above my scar. Imaging said recurrence of scar tissue. Yesterday I underwent a surgical excisional biopsy. The doctor is pretty confident it is nothing but scarring that had adheared ot the muscle and pulled it upward. He biopsied anyways. Will keep you posted! Who ever thought 3 1/2 years later I'd be dealing with this!? Do your sef breast exams even with implants or reconstruciton. It can and does happen to some women and my breast MRI in February showed residual tissue HAD been left in there. Sigh.

Hi Ladies, I've been taking Tamoxifen for one month and am having night sweats which wake me up several times a night.  As a result I am tired and moody during the day.   I asked my Onco today if I could take the herbal supplement Estroven, and she said absolutely not.  Instead she offered me a prescription for Effexor.  Does anyone have any experience taking this drug?  I'm not sure I want to take an anti-depressant when I am not depressed....but wow would it be great to sleep through the night again.

ok so I'm new to this board and am hoping one of you out there can help put my mind at ease.  I finished all my treatments (chemo and rads) Nov 15 and have been on tamoxifen since dec 1st.  My Dr. keeps telling that there aren't usually side effects (YAH RIGHT) so i thought I would reach out and see if what I'm feeling is normal.  Night sweats, (yuck), difficulty sleeping becasue of the nigth sweats.  Can not loose a lbs to save my life.  exhausted after a day or work,(use to be able to keep on going).  Breast tenderness, kind of like the week before my period, plus lower back pain.  I have not gotten my period and may not now since the last one was in July.  I kind of feel like my body wants to but the tamoifen won't let it.  Signs of nervousness and anxiety (oh wait thats because i'm worried that the bc has come back!).  my mammo in march was clear and i'm wiating on bloodwork but I know thats going to be fine.

any suggestions or am I just normal?

Dexxy... welcome aboard! Im sorry you are having so many issues but yes those are all se we have at one time or another experienced. The anxiety and moods are the biggest issues for me but the fatigue is also very big. Acheyness and all sorts of issues. I dont know why they are so reluctant to admitt all the se...but they are very real indeed!!!... we are here for whatever you need... hang in there hugs!

anne67 - Estroven is definitely a no-no.  It contains estrogen.  I have not tried Effexor but I have read it does help.  Although it is an antidepressant, one of the benefits is it will give you good sleep.  I take an antidepressant for permanent nerve damage from radiation and I am not depressed.  I do like the added sleep and being pain free.  I would encourage you to speak with you MO about this and voice your concerns.

Paula - Holy Cow!  Now that is what I'm talking about.  Thanks!!!!  I will think of that when I see my PS tomorrow.

Tink - All ready to go!

dexxy - Welcome!  So sorry we have to meet this way.  I am post menopausal so can't help you there.  I have a few hot flushes but that is about it.  I have been on Tamoxifen since Jan 5, 2011.  I know others will come along and chime in.

Damn Tink and Jo you got some good ones but then again she never submits a bad one yet.......way to go Paula.

Dexxy welcome!  The SE are horrible and some take longer to get than others and some are around for the duration.  Hang in there as most of them subside and all these ladies are awesome and will help you with them along with having some fun.

It's almost WHACK WHACK Friday......watch out!
