kayb and Kate33 -- you can "delete" the articles by clicking "archive."  I assume this doesn't count against an individual's "storage space" ?

Mods, can you check with your techs about whether "archiving" uses up more bandwidth?  Or if articles one ignores will eventually just drop away?

Also, whatever function is coming up with appropriate articles doesn't seem to be working very well!  My dx is hormone-positive Stage 1 -- I've been "assigned" articles about treating metastatic triple-negative disease.  Hmmmmm......

By the way, we've bumped up the size of the fonts in the "Post a Reply" box. You will very likely have to clear your browser cache in order to see the change!

This is what I get when I click on the red 271 favorites--I have been trying to delete each one--I started at 295--but it is slow and tedious and crashes my computer.

Apparently the techs know little about color theory or basic artistic composition (I teach color theory and fine art composition). I can handle change and like creative change, but this webiste is messed up. The new format is harsh on the eyes, and psychology depressing. The website was user friendly.  If I were to come here as a newby the website (not knowing a lot of the women already) my first impression would be it's cold, slow, and painful to the eyes. If you have to click onto a thread more than a few times to open it, you're not coming back (speaking of newbies)>

I don't come to this site often; even less so now with this format.

I came back just to read this thread and my eyes are burning and blurring already.  This color scheme is awful.  It is loading faster than it was earlier.  That is the only positive thing I can say.

I really think it you want to use this kind of format you need to go back to having just a few forums ... the front page 'experience' now and all the scrolling required leads to burnout before you even get halfway through it.

Never mind ... I just hate it.  Maybe I can figure out a way to just link directly to my favorite thread or two and ignore the rest of the board.

Now I'm really confluzalated as I'm not 'puter or 'droid literate other than a few things.

I went to My Profile to see what was there as it sounded like some had said their info was gone. The first 'stuff that showed up as a bunch of 'articles' that were not to relate to me at all - I don't have mets (at least as far as I know at this time) and I do not need info about HRT nor did I use it 21 yrs ago when I went through menopause naturally. How do I get this spam to go away?

What was scary was when I clicked on Diagnosis to see what was there, a box came up saying it is an unsecured site. I clicked on the box that said go on but then another box came up again saying unsecured site - so then I figured I better back out.

So - if we use a 'Droid there is an unwanted app being stuck on our phone?

In the past threads we had looked at in a section would show as a different color title for a day or 2 so it was easier/quicker to find what you had been watching recently - not anymore.

Just a thought for those who are saying there is a wide area on the side (not on 'Droid) - this might have been planned in to get commercial advertisers - I've seen it done at a lot of site in the last year.

This new format is terrible terrible terrible. Difficult to read and navigate. Not user friendly at all. Can we have the old format back?

    First thoughts:

    Negatives:

--Eliminate the word "dashboard" too technical - reminds me of a Microsoft Word feature or something. Go back to using "my profile."

--It doesn't feel as though you are "in" a forum - more as though you are paging through a table of contents.

--I HATE it when the forum doesn't take up the whole page.

--I also don't like paging through ative topics for ages.

    Positives:

--I LOVE the color scheme. LOVE it.

    --simple graphics - yey!

--Visually, nice, simple and uncluttered - love it.

    --NO ads visible when posting!!

--I can read the fonts more easily.

No trouble with speed on this particular desktop. Will see how my smartphone feels....

Thanks Mods - hope this is constructive. You can tell there is a lot of hard work here.

Thank you all for your constructive comments!

We have heard from some members here that the colors are "harsh" and it would help us if you could expand on that? Is there not enough contrast between the background and the text? Is it too dark? Too bright?

    Thanks!

Mods, please consider going back to the old format.  I think new posts are going to get lost if they aren't on the first page.

EEEgads! Is it because I'm just old, or what?  I can barely SEE this when I am typing.... Wish something could be done!  I can get used to something "new" but in this case, I just liked the "convenience" of how the threads,  and favorite threads were arranged.

I have never SEEN such small print....!  I didn't want to wear my "reading" glasses just for this forum....Dang!

I don't have metastatic didease or lymphedema so I can only assume that since I check on topics under those headings when my friends post on them, that is why those topics are on my reccomended list. So now I can eother check on my friends and have articles that are not of interset to me and in the case of metatstatic disease kind of creepy or not check up on those whom I have come to like and admire.

There are other things I wish would change back but the headache from the choice of colors is making me leave the site, for now.

Did you hire real web designers? I can't believe a professional would choose something that is giving so many people headaches.  Oh and my eyes are crossing too. What is with these shades of gray? Ugh.

I'm wondering if people's views are vastly different. I am tbd world's blindest, most light sensitive perzon. I find the color scheme soft and friendly.

I wonder if we have to 'delete cache' or something...

athena...wanna tell me how to delete cache on my mobile?  That's what the moderators suggested...  I don't think it's that simple on the mobile...

Looks like the color scheme just changed slightly in the last 5 minutes -- more of an ivory / cream / ecru palette.  Better than the glaring white and blue-ish gray -- or are my rods and cones just fried?!  (that was a joke -- I think it has changed a little, but I still have a headache -- maybe I need to "turn off and reboot" my eyes and brain!  ta-ta for now)

Fried rods and cones, with a little butter and fresh herbs? Sounds yummy, AnnNYC! Smile

Seriously though, the team has been fine tuning all day in response to constructive comments from so many. And it's not over yet, thank you!
