kingjr66 - Best of luck tomorrow. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Sorry I can not join the pocket party. I have 2 drains and don't want all the other party-goers to have to be that careful around me. Please post when you feel up to it.

thank you ladies for your support. I am just about to leave for hospital. had very bad night and woke up with a wicked headache which I can't take anything for it. Wish I could join you in the pocket, it's always a fun time in there.
-
Granny--got your pm and I sent you one back! Praying that bloodwork comes back fine...I"m sure your tired for all the running around you have been doing!
kingjr66-will be saying a prayer for you..and I'm squeezing into your pocket with the snacks! Let us know how it goes...
I haven't worn underwire bras since my dx either...but am still looking for some supportive bras without them (I'm DD-DDD)...any and all suggestions are welcomed....(Genie bras have been crap for me)
It's B E A U T I F U L outside today...I'm heading out...
Love and hugs to all!

Tori - As a DD+ I've worn a playtex front closure racer back bra for years. It gives me much better support than the underwire bras ever did.
-
Chabba! Thanks! Are they pretty ease to find? Kohls? JCPenneys? And is there a certain model number/style that you would recommend? I keep seeing those new commmercials on tv about Playtex bras....are the ones you use similar to those? At any rate, I'm certainly excited to learn more so I can go and check them out!

Im the queen of bras as you all know....yeah the genie bras were crap but the did the job when i needed it.
I wear mostly the Champion sports bra..a little expensive like close to 40 bucks but this one I got when i was fitted for the edema is called New Champion spot comfort bra is like wearing nothing.the # is 1602. comes in black, pink, blue and white.
If i have to get dressed up i do wear the genie bra.it works for low cut tops. And not wearing it for too long.
i swear i have 100 bras!!!!!!!and im still buying.LOL.
HUGGGGGGGS everyone. K
-
Tori - It is the Playtex 18 hour front closure. The one with the racer or posture control back gives the best support. The strap adjustment is in the back. The number on the tag is #4379.

Hello everyone: Surgery went well. a lot of pain, which I tolerate, used to pain every day. I have three incission sites. One in my bellybutton still bleeding and the steri-strips are saturated, already starting to come off. Yikes!!!!
Been reading on the Playtex bras. I have always stayed away for these because I do not like seams over the breasts and don't want to look like Madonna's torpedo breasts. I don't like my underwire either. Maybe I should take a peek again since new styles keep coming out.
-
kingjr66.. Glad surgery went well. Now time to rest and heal
May I request a pocketparty May 11th Exchange surgery and lift/reduction This wil mean a roadtrip for you as I am in Western Canada
-
Ossa - Just wrote it on my calendar and will pack a small bag. I have a feeling you better wear something with lots of big pockets.
-
I'm off work for next 2 weeks so I can jump in.
-
Granny - I just order one of those Champion Sport Bras on Amazon for $22.. I had a gift card from Christmas... I hope it works - I'm almost 10 months post rad and still only can wear a shelf-bra tank top...
. I think that is because the nerve pain is right where the elastic lays underneath and to the side of the breast.. It really seems to depend on where the rad-burn was..
Got to get back to work all - Have a great day!
-
GmaFoley---i got ripped off on the bras cuase i went to a special store cause i had edema. The cut on the one i gave the number was just below the achy area.I love love love it.First i bought the pink and then i ordered the black.Well the black was smaller then the pink and i called them up...i wanted another one but they sent me my $$$$back.Good luck with it.
King----im fumpin in your pocket now..i wanna be on the bottom so i can protect myself from JO.SHE KICKS!!!!!
hugggggs everyone K
-
Granny - Don't worry - I will not kick you. I have to behave myself until these darn drains come out - then you better watch out. LOL!
-
I'm in the pocket too! I've nver been to Canada, but more than likely, I'll end up on the bottom again and miss seeing anything...somehow I end up there...probably because that is where the mischief is! I'll brings the snacks! Who's bringing drinks?? Ossa...watch out, your pocket is gonna be overflowing!
Chabba and Granny--thanks for the info on bras...I sooooo need to get some decent ones...I will keep you all updated!
-
Boy, that must have been some pocket party, not a peep out of anyone for couple days now.
-
Granny contacted me and wanted me to pass on some information to you wonderful ladies. She iis in PA with her son who may have a brain tumor. Final testing was to be done today and she will let me know what the results are when she can. She needs your prayers. Unfortunately, she does not have a reliable internet connection which makes communicating with us a nightmare. If you have sent her PMs, rest assured she would so like to respond but is unable to. As soon as I get an update, I will post here.

Still praying for Granny's son....

prayers for Granny and her son!
Sorry I have been missing....had the retreat, then my sister in law passed away (from my previous marriage)...then I went to the coast to visit her daughters, then DH ended up in the hospital last week, and headed to kansas this weekend......whew....
On the bra front, I started wearing a "tuxedo" bra. I had never tried one before. It does have underwire, but since the cups plunge down the front, it seems to not pull so badly. Still it's not 100% comfortable, I think that it gone forever. But for my two very very different cup sizes after the lumpectomy, it's the one that works the best and looks the most natural.
-
sagina - I had the same problem with the two very different cups sizes. Just had LD flap surgery on my left side and I am now evened out. Loving the results. Better yet, I am really liking that I don't have an implant and everything used was from my body.
-
Will be praying for Granny and her son.
Sagina you have been one busy girl. Too bad none of it was for fun. You have had a rough few weeks.
I guess I was lucky with the bras. My lump was to the inside of my breast so it did not interfere with my bra. My biggest hurdle was my nipple healing up from radiation. Once it got to where it did not hurt then I could wear a silicone nipple shield so my bra would not rub on it.. But now BMX, PS says I never have to wear a bra again unless I want too. Have had many braless days and loving it since he told me that.
-
Prayers going out to Granny and her son...Thanks for keeping us in the loop Jo...
-
whoa over haul of the web page?
How is everyone today?
-
Praying for Granny and her son!
-
Granny, you and your son are in my thoughts.
-
Sagina, I just upped my gabapentin yet again.. But on the other hand, doesn't that mean the nerves are healing? Must be getting better :-)
I also started walking again... hope I can keep it up..BTW - I don't like the new webpage, I feel off center. I already am off center without the webpage being that way too LOL..
3:30am is going to come early better head to bed... Have a good night everyone..
-
Gmafoley, I 'll bite. Why do yu get up at 3:30? Way too early for me. In fact its almost midnight and I'm still at this dumb computer.
