Extreme pain after eating
So this is new for me; I eat and soon after have extreme (like an 8 or 9 on a scale of 10) pain in my chest. And today it actually felt like it was wrapping around my ribs and squeezing them. I mean I have high pain tolerance, but this is just crazy. ideas/thoughts? It also doesn't seem to matter what I eat. Today it was plain yogurt and fruit. Then, BAM. Still feel pretty crappy, but not the extreme that it was. Waiting for onc to call me back. I can't go through the weekend with this pain, I won't be able to eat! Thanks guys for any advice.

Bump...HELP!

Go see your GP. You could have heartburn or heart issues. A lot of heart issues present as heartburn and additional stress can aggravate it. Any severe pain should be checked. Before I had BC I would get severe heartburn like pain after I ate. Turned out to be a gall bladder problem which required emergency surgery. If it is really bad go to the ER. Pain is an indicator that there is something wrong. Heed it's call.

Perhaps it is severe indigestion or gall bladder issues? Gall stone attacks are incredibly painful. Have you contacted your family dr? I find that going to my regular dr gets me quicker results.
I hope that you can find out what is going on soon. Good luck.

Went to the er. Heart is fine (developed congestive heart failure from Avastin so that was a concern, as well as 12 months on Herceptin). Waiting for onc to call with a referral to the doc they think I should see. Have what was read as a hematoma on the liver, although one radiologist said "probable met". Now I'm wondering if he/she was right. But also mentioned gallstones to them. Just want to get in to see someone!
-
Glad that you got into the ER and that heart is ok. Did you have a scan done while you were there or where did the "hematoma/probable met" come from?
Hoping you won't have too long to wait to see the dr regarding what is going on.
Keep us posted.

Thanks Barsco. Yes, got a CT scan, which was clear. The questionable liver met scan was done at Hopkins for the vaccine trial. Another weird thing, itchy palms and feet, crazy itchy. It's all so weird. Going to a gastro guy at Columbia-pres on Monday. Hopkins on Wednesday. I just want the pain, or the threat of it, gone!

How are you doing little tower? Thinking of you.

Thanks bcisnofun (man, you got that right). Last week endoscopy with biopsy of a "funky" (my words not the Dr.'s) area to the lining of my stomach. This week on Thursday my first colonscopy. Wow, ain't life a blast! Results of biopsy on Friday and I'm hoping it's something treatable because I am so bloody uncomfortable!!
-
Hi little tower. So sorry you are so uncomfortable. Thinking of you. Please keep us posted.
