Found this website http://www.dessertfortwo.com . It has really good small recipes.  Made the carrot cake last week and the chocolate cake today. Nice to have a small desert for 2 not 20.

Hello Ohio ladies!  Not much action on here lately. I hope that means everyone is doing well and living their lives!  I went for my rads simulation Monday but have not heard when I start yet. I am thinking next week.  I also start Tamoxifen on May 1st...not really looking forward to that!  I feel pretty good these days and I hope all of you are doing well.  Now...if we could just get Mother Nature to return us to the good weather.  This sucks!

Hello again......starting to feel like I'm talking to myself LOL.  I am so excited because I booked a little weekend get-away for me and my DH to celebrate our 1st anniversary!  We are going to Chicago for a weekend to see Jersey Boys.  I am so looking forward to a weekend with no chemo, rads or kids!  I go in for xrays today and officially start rads tomorrow.

    How is everyone????

Thanks Eileen...we were married 5 months when I was diagnosed.  I was single for 12 years waiting for the right one to come along....and he is definitely the right one!  We will definitely enjoy the trip.

Hope you are still doing well.....

Today is actually my anniversary - strange. Went to get my 3rd infusion but was turned away due to a fever that put me in the ER yesterday. I no longer have a fever but they want it to at least be gone a whole 24 hrs, yay- I get to drive another hour tomorrow if it stays gone:p

Question: anyone getting radiation after chemo? If so, how long between the last chemo will you start rads? Curious - I like to pretend to make plans for thing.

Hi Sarah!  Happy anniversary!  DH and mine is May 14th...our first.  Sorry you got turned away for chemo...seems like someone could have told you that before you drove an hour to get there.  I started rads yesterday.  My RO said they want you to be a month past chemo at least before starting rads.  How did you heal up from your BMX?

LOL  My youngest DD is in school at the Cleveland Institute of Art.  Her and my oldest DD are going to design me a tattoo to get after all my treatment is over.  I can't wait to see what they come up with!

I started my rads 3 weeks after my last chemo. I had my first boost today. Only four more and I'm done with rads. Next we will concentrate on my heart and starting Herceptin back up hopefully.

Sarah - trust me, you'll be bald for a little while after chemo.  I say design away and as soon as you get the OK...go for it!  I was going to put mine on the back of my shoulder but my BFF had a point, she said I'll never see it.  So now I am thinking the top or side of my foot.

kdking - Congrats on almost being done, I am so jealous!  I just had my 2nd tx today, 33 more to go UGH!!!

Good point Kelly!! I already know exactly what I want, side of my head and when my hair grows over it I won't have to see it again!!!! I have other plans (of a less offensive nature than my head tattoo) for other parts of my body but I gotta wait to see how bad the rads kills my skin. I like your foot idea, and they keep really well considering the amount of sunlight it would get.

hi gals- surgery was a piece of cake except for dry heaves- surgeon is pleased with my healing.

today was visit to MO- i start taxotere/cytoxan on 5/18-that sucks...will be 4 TX spread over 12 weeks -then a month off before RADS then probly tamoxifen...

lost my eyelashes completely the other nite - and no eyebrows for about two weeks- don't see or feel any evidence of hair growing on my head but my moustache is trying to sprout....

still not working-seems taht i have "the job" but they don't have anywhere for me to sit- and there are about 8 of us waiting to be hired....frustrating--have felt well enough to work almost this whole time!

    enjoying the weather tho!

Hi to all you Ohio gals. Was visiting your beautiful state last weekend for my sons graduation from Akron univ. We stayed in Cuyahoga Falls, visited Solon (son is looking a buying a home) went to a Marina in Cleveland ( to view a boat).  Daughter flew in to Columbus to visit a client for work then took a bus up to Akron for the graduation....so in 3 days we pretty much covered a lot of Ohio.  My daughters comment was that she noticed how clean and beautiful they keep their cities...I agree.

BTW  your weather is just slightly better than upstate NY...we have 2 seasons  winter and the 4th of July.

I did chemo first then surgery then rads,  it seems like there was a month window inbetween each session.  They always wanted me to rest and heal before moving on.  Needed some revision done last with the nipple surgery and the PS wanted me 6 months out from rads to do this, so it has been a long journey and I was very impatient.  Now cant get my tattoo until July because she is booked.  I have thought about doing something crazy on there but not sure I have the guts....WTH? Me and my husband are the only ones that will see it....till I get to the nursing home   ha ha

Thank you sewingnut. I am still in shock over it, we were so close.  I am glad that it was quick and that she went knowing that I am NED.  That gives me some comfort.

    Hi all ...

First of all, Kelly I am so sorry to hear about your mom.  Mine has been gone for almost 20 years - it was also sudden.  Time heals but does not make it any easier.  So sorry, dear.

Lots going on in my world.  Many doctor appts to make arrangement for surgery 5/31 to have ovaries & tubes removed.  Decided against the hysterectomy.  With my niece diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer, I have an urgent need to get the time bombs out of my body.  I am post menopausal and on AI anyway.  Done with them, they can go.

Not liking the Arimidex.  I am very achy in my legs and feet.  When I see my onc in June hopefully I can try Femara and see if I do better on that.

Neuropathy continues in my feet to the point I have fallen twice.  The new normal sucks.  I plan to check out acupuncture after the surgery is done and things are back to (the new) normal.

Hair is growing back, I have about 3/4" now.  Slow going, but it is coming in dark and silver.  It will be interesting to see how it goes.

I have been getting yard work done as I can ... June is the BEST garden time in NE Ohio, yes?  Everything is so green and lush.  It is calming to me.

My youngest comes home for prom with his senior girlfriend next weekend, then he moves home for the summer from OSU June 8.  My other son (the sailor, in Japan) will be home for 3 weeks starting August 16.  I have lots to look forward to!  I went out to Rafters last night with my DH and we got to play and sing ... it was fun to get out again and see our music friends.  I have missed it.

Ladies ... take care of yourselves.  Many (((hugs))) to all!

    Debbie

Kelly,   I am so very sorry for the loss of your mother..I didn't know until I read this..Glad you are doing well.. How are doing with radiation? I have my last chemo on May 30th and then on to radiation.  I am still doing well, treatment # 5 did make me very tired, but I am not sick,I am thankful for that..Looking forward to some nice Ohio weather this weekend. Hope you and all on this board have a terrific weekend.
