I am 1 year out from all of my treatment and looking to connect with others who have had Her2nue +, grade 3, ER- PR-. I have made changes in my diet and don't drink or smoke and I have been trying to educate myself on this particular kind of cancer. The more I read the scarier it sounds! I would really like to hear from women who have been through this. I want to hear from women who have had other kinds of breast cancer also! I have gotten a few responces back on other posts and it just made my day to talk with other people who have been through having this horrible disease! Thank you for being there!

    Hi Nonblonde 70,

I was diagnosed in 2008 (age 39) with HER 2+ grade 3 ER- PR- inflammatory breast cancer. So pretty similar to you except I have brain mets. My treatment (I was in a clinical trial with Avastin) was really successful, the chemo, radiation and surgery, all went great. Most recently I had brain surgery to remove a large tumour and gamma knife radiation-- also successful!

I'm glad you reached out and it's nice to meet you! When it comes to positive talk like yours, I'm in!

    Dutchie (a blonde--lol!)

I was diagnosed 8/2009. I had BMX, DIEP (partial failure), TCH and herceptin for a year. I go to the onc 3x a year and the BS once a year. I feel like I am doing all I can but if it is going to recur, it will. I try my best not to think about it too much, but occassionally those thoughts creep in. If you let it take you over it will have won because it will dominate your life. I know it is easy to say, hard to do.

I plan on being here a long time. I will be so happy to write to you in 10 years.

Yes, bring the success stories, please.

I have been mostly positive over the past 20 months, and managed to get through the recurrnce (and subsequent treatment).

I give thanks for every day that I wake.  But there are moments where i feel absolute terror!  yesterday was one of those moments.

Nice to 'meet' you.  Let's celebrate when we reach 10 year and 18 year survivor status.

Sending you love and wellness.  All praise to God

Just had my MRI last month and it was fine.  I go to the onc every 6 months, get blood drawn, get an MRI, 6 months later see onc, get an Ultrasound and get a lung xray once a year.  See my surgeon twice a year. I make sure I come to this board to post every 6 months to say I'm ok and give others hope.  DX in September of 2009, ER-PR-Her2+  I had surgery, TCH and Rad.  Hugs to all.  I'm gonna read the boards for awhile and pop in on a few other threads.

nonblonde7, I don't have quite  the same biology as you but I'm also HER2+, diagnosed about the same time as you and doing just fine. The one thing about being HER2+ and hormone negative (in your case) is if you make it past the 3 year NED mark your chances of recurrence goes way down after that.

I'm assuming you're coming up on year 2 NED! This is exciting!
