Here is the pathology report:

 A. "Breast, right, lumpectomy" - Fibrocystic changes and florid duct hyperplasia with intraluminal mucin secretion. Adjacent biopsy site changes.

B. "Breast, right anterior/inferior" - Fibrocystic changes and florid duct hyperplasia associated with calcifications and intraluminal mucin secretion. Tiny mucocele-like lesion.

C. "Breast, right posterior chest wall" - Fibrocystic changes and florid duct hyperplasia with focal intraluminal mucin secretion. Dense fibrosis and reactive changes.

BS says I am in the clear though I have slightly higher risk for getting bc going forward. She is recommending a new baseline mammo and MRI in 6 months but otherwise no further treatment. She said I could take tamoxifen as a preventative measure but there are side effects--like a slightly higher risk for uterine cancer. I think I am going to pass on the tamoxifen and hope that diligent screening will catch anything of note early enough.

Hard to wrap my mind around everything. It's a big change from a few weeks ago when I was researching breast recon uptions and meeting PS. I did google florid duct hyperplasia and though benign, I do worry a little about the future. Thank goodness I sought a second opinion on my initial dx of DCIS!

Thanks to everyone on this board for all the support. You are awesome!
