Scream Cream??
My husband and I are having a hard time connecting intimately with one another. I think if we could just have sex (and enjoy it), it could help. I have read on these boards that some of you use Scream Cream and that you ought to get the compounded version. Can someone please explain what this is, if I need a perscription, if so, which doctor I should ask, and politely, what your experience with this is?
Thanks.

Melly, I haven't tried it yet, but there's a thread "The solution to painful intercourse - yippee" in the Stage IV forum that has the answers to your questions.
Don't worry about it being in the Stage IV forum - it's for anyone dealing with this problem.
Best of luck.

Here's a link to the forum Leah mentioned:

You do need a prescription for it, and the doctor has to send the prescription to a "compounding pharmacy" (one where they make the medications on site rather than just selling prepacked ones). There are similarly name creams available online, but they are not the same. Here is the prescription link:

I went to my primary care physician, but others have gotten scrips from their oncologist or gynecologist.
I have tried it once to with not great results, but I seem to be the exception. Most of the women have found it VERY helpful. Many also get a lidocaine prescription along with the scream cream.

I had saved the link you mentioned but now that I want to print it out to take to my doctor, the link is no longer available. Does anyone happen to have the ingredients to share with me? I can not find anything else on the internet except for the non prescription Scream Cream. Any help would be greatly appreciated by both me and my husband. Thanks!

I had saved the link and it isn't working anymore. The actual formula is typed out in the thread mentioned above - not sure what page though.

I've used it and it does help. I printed the formula and had my onc. write the script and I took it to our local compounding pharmacy.
Here is the link I used:
It worked when I checked a while ago. Hope this helps. -
thanks openheart for finding that link. I swear by this stuff!! Sex was so painful yet this stuff works. I used lidocaine ointment (5%) for the first 6-8 times and now I don't need the lidocaine anymore.

How come no one is manufacturing this? It shouldn't be so hard to come by. It would be flying off the shelves with husbands buying it by the gross.
