Ive heard great things about doing acupuncture BEFORE surgery - that it helps in speeding the recovery process.  Anyone have experience with this??

I had acupuncture after some surgery I had a few years ago. It speeded up my healing and helped so much with pain.  I also had it before surgery and was surprised that the pain and healing times were better than surgeries I have had w/o acupuncture.

My brother in law has been sick with some sort of lung thing for about 3 years. The doctors can't find what is wrong with him but his coughing was so bad he actually broke a rib. He finally went to see an acupuncturist and is 95% better. Too bad most people see acupuncturists when they are desperate! It's been around a long time and I highly recommend it. It is not painful at all.

I had acupuncture after my last surgery, and I don't know that it made a big difference for me. Of course, my practitioner swore it would--by getting the lymph flowing better, reducing inflammation and stress. And maybe it did. But I wouldn't swear to it.

It did, however, really help with the nerve pain from a bulging disc in my neck!
