Thanks for the cool boots Veggy! I think I like the first one the best.
And the raincoats? When I saw the second I wanted to take my glasses off again. Oy.

SpecialK, I'm up for a plane ride. I actually like to fly. Growing up, every one in my family was involved with planes: building, flying, scheduling. Be sure to take snacks. Airline food is beyond atrocious now. I'm happy you'll be with your friend to offer support. (((HUGS)))
-
Found me..................I'm the one in the "see thru" raincoat..................get a load of that ass....................better lay off the "twinkies"..................
Just 1 hour away from 77..........................Last year I started Rads, the day after my birthday, which is tomorrow.....................wow, Happy F/N Birthday to me..............................1 year later.....................77 Good Lord.....................where the hell is the Vodka.................
-
Thanks guys - I fly a lot too - I just don't like it! Bought plane-worthy snacks today, they are nutritious and delicious, so I am all set. Now if only I was already packed... My DS and his GF are flying down from Virginia on the evening of the 3rd, they land as I am leaving California - but I am on a red-eye so don't land until the morning of the 4th. They are staying for a week - so I am pretty excited but I am getting their room and bathroom all tip top, because they get here before I get back!
-
SpecialK...What a nice FMIL you'll be one day.
Not all in law's like the girl friends or the boy friends.
My DD & FSIL in Hawaii who is getting married are living together for over 3 years now.
I'm perfectly OK with the idea so the boy friend's mother who is in NY and do dinner together sometimes. but the family things something is wrong with me.
Enjoy your visit ♥♥♥

SpecialK - I am in your pocket, but hiding. I'm a terrible flyer. I'm already having a panic attack thinking about it. But a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Like you, I hate flying, but I do it. How else am I supposed to go on a fabulous vacation, right?
DUCKY - its your birthday??? Go Ducky, its your birthday. Go Ducky, its your birthday. We're gonna party like its your birthday. Happy happy birthday.
I'll take that first raincoat please!

Fuzzy & all- this is definitely a fun thread to read- love the pics.
I can relate to noticing every ache & pain. Every little ache & pain in a new site only adds a little panic to me these days. Thank you breast cancer? UGGGGHhhhhhhhhhhhhh........ I am going to my primary care doc for just that reason- have had a little back pain & sharp pain lower abdomen- it was awful over the w/e and now it's better. Scary. I can't think it's something passing anymore thanks to breast cancer. Isn't it weird how that changes in a snap.
THis thread is fun & uplifting here. I definitely need to get some pics. I am trying to do some fun things post cancer. I am on a going to concerts kick over the summer.
I don't like to fly either Special K though I love to travel & flying is a must to get to neat places. I think we should plan a trip somewhere fun from some of the folks on here.... In the meantime, keep the pics coming.
XXXXXOOOOO to you all. Fuzzy's Romp Room is the best.

here we come! the plane is ready for boarding.

Ducky Happy Birthday!!
Fuzzy thanks for the outfits.
SpecialK just think about what is waiting for you
Lisa I know what you mean. Every pain leaves me questioning if the cancer decided to kick up its part
SAS GET BETTER AS FAST AS THEY LET YOU. L&H'S!!
Today I leave for a road trip. My oldest is graduating from Army boot camp on Friday. My parents are driving my youngest son and I out to see it. I am partially excited and partially nerve wracked. My oldest and I do not have a good relationship and his wife has been horrible since they moved out here to "help" me. I don't expect to see much of him becuase I really expect him to want to spend all of his time with his wife and children. I'm fine with that. I just hope the two of them don't pointedly snub us while making the effort to include everyone else with overexaggerated kindness. I won't have computer access while I'm gone, so see you all in a week.
Ok enough whining. I am So happy you all are here and that I found this thread. It really helps so very much!!

I'm listening to "Summer of 300 Years," nice calming song, doesn't really have a tune, just goes along nice and slow, languid... may we all have a summer of three hundred years. Folks, I have days where I read stuff here and I have no earthly idea what people are talking about and I get diff people mixed up with each other. SIGH. I'll tell you, there's something to be said for getting old and worn, tho, becuz you don't CARE if you ain't got a clue. One of my sayings, tho, is, "It's not how old you are, it's how awful you feel." So, I sent the "Fuzzinator" (thanks Cindy forever for that name) a picture of me just before chemo started and I still had my waist-long hair. And I finally figured out how to upload it from a glitter site, where you can put sparkles and snowy stuff. [Edit: took out snow effect.] This is that photo, from a year ago:
It's been freezing up in these mountains for a couple days, altho no snow just wind, finally in the 40s this morning. I miss the real South along coastal areas, talk about hot and humid, flat lands, rows of tobacco fields, and roads that go straight so far that they become mirages. One of you said you was missing the ocean. So do I. But husband and I are stuck here now, no way we can ever move again, we're too wrecked up. But I don't mind, we got us a pretty good little house.
I had to walk down to the creek yesterday, the mower guy left the gate open down there, so I went thru it to have a look at the sparkling water and listen to it gurgle. Our yard in general looks like a jungle, but at least the floor is nice and neat. Our mower guy doesn't do windows, which means he won't trim bushes, nor do one particular weedy spot between fence lines with neighbor, but this is how it is when you hire folks to do stuff for you. Husband and I used to mow and mow, but no more. I checked the mail, we're awful about that, so had a big stack, half was junk mail. So, that's my life for the last several days.
Oh, I been watching "Bethany Ever After," gosh she's been doing some crying, and then "Guiliana and Bill," her deal with cancer wasn't too hard to watch. But soon "Design Star" will be on, and seems like "Big Brother" comes up this summer. I heard about a "new" show (been on a couple years...haha) called "The Finder," and I'm dying to see it. I keep forgetting to enter the "HGTV Green House Giveaway." My brother and his son got in a big discussion about that, and I said if I won I'd give it to the son, and the father said he'd PAY ME for it, and son said he wanted his father's house anyway, and on it went! What ever am I talking about? Oh, I jus opens my mouth and out it goes. I love all my sisters, and PLEZ tell me, Sheila dear, is it my imagination or did you change your avatar flower? Always, GG
-
Leaving for genetic testing soon. I have a ten o'clock appointment. I have list of family memebers who had cancer. Most of them would be great aunts and uncles. I'd rather go back to bed. My mother is meeting me afterwards so we can do lunch together.
Gentle hugs!
-
Veggy - good luck at your appt this morning. I remember bringing that list with me too. Unfortunately, it was longer than expectd... Enjoy lunch with mom. (((veggy)))
GG - I watch all those crappy shows too! I caught up on G&B last night and was so mad. Who is up walking around the day after their BMX??? I could barely take myself 3 feet to go to the bathroom. I turned it off after that and I may not watch again. Makes me sad (for me) and frustrated.
do you think this comes in my size:
-
Shellia thanks.. It feels great to be home and I slept so good last night. No one waking me up in the middle of the night to take my blood pressure and temp!!!! In your pocket!!!
Veggy in your pocket. Hope your lunch with Mom is wonderful...
GG. Thanks for putting up the picture. It is always nice to put a face with a name. Will you grow your hair long again like in the picture? I had my hair all one length down to about chin level where I wanted it before chemo. I am getting closer to getting it back to chin level again.
Lauren if that outfit doesn't come in your size it should...
Have a good day everyone..
Cindy -
Jumping in pockets today for anyone who needs...
Crog - glad you're home and resting!
veggy - good luck with the genetics discussion. I remember when I was going through it I had a long discussion about it with my mother. Her comment was, "You know, this would be fascinating if it was about somebody else." Once the BRCA came back negative (my father is Ashkenazi, so that was the concern), the focus turned towards my daughter's future risk, since my MIL AND her sister both had BC, and the sister also had ovarian CA. Counselor said that my BC, as her mother, outweighs all of that on my husband's side as far as risk factors, tho. There is no BC in my family besides me except for a distant great aunt, and they're not even really sure about her.
Lauren - love Bus Driver Barbie!
My hubby is at the surgeon's office today - may have a sports hernia or a regular one - so may be looking at surgery soon. He's been in major pain for the last week or so. Waiting to hear his news...
-
Veggy in your pocket and Lisa's, Laurens,.Madpeacock and DH's-if they do hernia repair just don't let them use MESH, Research it.
Crog had aPM for you, but it won't send
Yeah cindy--hears to an uneventful recovery. I put an intention in the Divine Mercy novena-our intentions were delivered by Nonijones to the shrine in Stockbridge. It's very special to have intentions delivered to a shrine during a novena, I hope you didn't mind. The intention was for a successful surgery and an uneventful recovery,
In the post -op instructions what did they tell you about sitting to long with you legs dependent.? walking? signs and symptoms to look for?
does the distant part of your foot feel better? hows it look?
If you are to tired to answer , I get that Don't answer.
I guess the real question is did they give you better instructions then last time,? I re-read this and figured it would be okay to post.
Sheila to Sheila-I have my MH appointment today too. But it's at 4:30 which means I can't take Shats. Bummer usually schedule appt's after 5pm so she can go.0oh yeah made a deal with the secretary and Shats can go. Shats is in therapy too. At the beginning she was very frightened. Now I have to make sure she doesn't try to lick any ones face. Which she wants too, nut not everyone wants a 70 lb dog trying to like their face. Cancelled last MH appt and went to see Cirque Du Soliel-----highly recommend. Cost as much as MH appt.
Dogeyed===You need a big big HUG coming your way>>>>>HERE IT COMES CATCH >.HUG
Fuzzy is it me or you not here.
Nancy you found me a Cheshire cat along time ago. If I find the page can you help make it my avatar. It was on the Insomnia thread.--I hope.
