IBC Recurrence? Help!!

Hi, I am writing for my mom (57 yrs old, dx in Feb 2011). On Friday she finished 15 days of skull radiation (yeah!). On Saturday, she woke up and her breast looked exactly like it did when she was dx. It was a very sudden change. She also ran a fever and felt a little fluish and had the chills. It looked the same on Sunday (even a little dimpled) but it is considerably less red and dimpled today. To me, it looked like a staph infection from a scratch close to the armpit. I know nobody can really guess from no pictures, but I thought someone might have an idea. I just thought it was weird starting the day after her radiation. Otherwise, she feels fine and worked all 15 days of her rads teaching school! thanks.

    Your Mom has a DX of IBC that metasitized to brain, Or she had a DX of Brain Cancer and you think it has become IBC?



    IBC defintely can met to other atreas but I've never heard that other Cancers become IBC. I definately could be wrong..



    Especially with a fever, it sound to me like an infection.

    I agree with Kicks.  With a fever, it sounds more like an infection.

    Glad to hear that your mum has done so well being able to teach while undergoing radiation, she must be a strong lady.  That being said, if she has a fever and some kind of infection, which it sounds like from an open wound, she should really get onto antibiotics quickly.  I hope she's checking with her doctors as her immune system will be low and you don't want things to get any worse. Thanks for looking after your mum....
