I am feeling like my hair growth is at a stand still now.  I just started working in my store again and customers who have not seen me ( did not work during tx) keep asking me what I have done to my hair---really??   I tell them that it is not a haircut it is what is growing back after chemo....then the shut up for a few seconds....then you can tell they cannot resist to ask what kind of cancer I had.  When I say breast they immediately look to where my boobs used to be and sometimes they will excuse themselves to go shop. haha

Maggie you can tell them you shaved your head a few months ago in protest of genital mutilation of women in the Middle East and Africa. Might be interesting to see if they then look at your crotch Tongue out

Haven't been on the site much in (too) many weeks, but it's nice to see all the updated hair photos!  Ladies, and Charles, all looking very good!!!!

Charles, as a fellow "mid-westerner," I have to ask if you ever feel your vote is futile?  I get out there and vote every single election, knowing full well my presidential vote means absolutely nothing in my (red) state!  Wink

Mags, do you take photos of your hair?  It will make a believer out of you.  For a few months thought my hair wasn't growing, was sure it was at a stand still.  Then I happened to upload photos from my camera, forgot I had some photos on there of me from several months past, and wouldn't ya know, you could definitely see growth.  Now I make sure to take a head and shoulders picture at least once a month to see the progress.

Oh, for sure, YamahaMama, we have the same problem here in Wyoming, the reddest of the red states. I am sure as heck not going to surrender, though Cool.

It's an uphill battle here in Wyoming, for sure. Indeed, when I worked in D.C., it was as press secretary for former Republican Whip Alan Simpson, who didn't care about my political affiliation when he hired me. Of course, Big Al wouldn't fare too well in the parade of right-wing loonies in charge of his party these days, either.

I was prepared to use it when I went bald but no one ever asked me any questions. Actually a few of the women in my building, when riding the elevator, would stop talking when I walked in, looked at me scared-like  and try to aviod eye contact. Now that I'm "all better" they say "hi". Too funny

OK, I have worked almost a full week without my wig, every single comment has been kind and supportive.  The one thing that caught me by surprise was the fact that some people wanted to "pet" me.  Has this happend to anyone else?

My husband "pet me" all the time. Now I only buzz the sides and back so he continues to "pet me" there.  It can get annoying when he won't stop. I think he likes to annoy me a little. Wink

Mardibra you may be the only Republican in Boston but I doubt it. Go to the Cape. Lots of Republicans there. My poor parents are surrounded! Old money Bostonians tend to be Republican… you know the ones that came over on "THE boat." Tongue out

Marj my husband is not a belly rubbing kind of guy.

I guess I should spend more time on the Cape!  My family came over on "A boat"....in 1958!  Not "THE boat" in 1620.

Im a registered independent.  When I voted, they asked me whether I wanted a republican or democrat voting slip.  When I said republican, the woman in front of me let out an audible gasp!  I couldnt not stop laughing.

That's pretty funny. You should have seen my reaction when years later I found out my husband voted for George W. the first time! Thank goodness he didn't tell me till years later. I think I would have divorced him. It was the one election I was so upset about who won.

    OK now back to hair.

lago - I can't wait to sing, "I love my hair." I still have 1 tx of Taxol left to go - next week - still bald as a cue ball. I am soooo tired of looking like a cancer patient. Loved your progression pics. When did you start going topless?

CharB22 my hair grows really fast. I was also on Herceptin which slowed my growth and still was able to go topless week 13. (4/28/2011 photo. Had it colored the next day so the photo is 4/29). I also have lots of hair. Even the wig gal said I could lose 1/3 of my hair and no one would notice. The crown was rather slow though although not as noticeable in the photos.

Note also my hair texture finally got back to normal 1 year PFC for me. Maybe next haircut I'll post again. My stylist cut it too long this time so it's a bit of a mess for me.

Thanks guys. It is still not a huge amount, but it looks like actual hair and I can feel the wind in it and stuff. My hairdresser is lobbying for me to keep it, which is funny because pre-chemo he couldn't bring himself to cut it short.
