Just wanted to update:)
Hi there,
I feel terrible for not checking in more but I made a decision right before the new year that I had to move on without Breast Cancer being a big part of life anymore. I use to come here, read everything, get scared for myself, get scared for others, and my anxiety was pushing me to a point that I wasn't functioning well. I decided to give the boards a break and before I knew it weeks became months.
I am doing well. I just passed 2 years since chemo. I feel great. I just had the final recon surgery and then developed a staph infection and had to have the implant removed and replaced. So far so good. I am happy with the results and so thankful that for now I have no planned surgerys in my future.
This August will mark 3 years for me since my diagnosis. Though I am very happy with where I am at I am still sadden daily by others loosing their battle but so thankful for each day with my children.
I am moving to Maui in July which is probably the craziest thing I have ever done but after being there for 2 months I found it so peaceful and healing. In the past 10 years I have dealt with my husbands stage 3 cancer. At the time I was pregnant.Fast forward 10 years and then my stage 3 diagnosis while pregnant.
Me and my husband run our business from home so we can live anywhere. We are only going fo year but are super excited to offer this opportunity to our children so they can learn a new culture and lifestyle. We look forward to just being together without the hectic lifestyle we live currently.
Cancer taught me I only have the here and now and though I believe with all my heart I have beat this disease I also feel a short lived WELL lived life os much better then a long boring one so I am all about living out dreams now, taking chances, and going for it!
I hope everyone is doing well and I think of you often! I wish all of you many blessings and good health! For all the newbies I am ALWAYS happy to answer questions or help in anyway. Feel free to PM. And of course if anyone knows of someone going through this wile pregnant I am here. I am also on facebook-PM me for my name
Blessings!

So good to hear from you here, but I totally get it. I've had to take mini breaks too. I take a lot in to myself and sometimes, like you said, you just need to put cancer behind you.
I am so happy to hear you are in such a good place, literally! Can't wait to hear all about Maui!
Love,
Sharon

Glad to hear things are going well for you and your family Jen. I think of you often and understand why you don't come here as often as you once did. I don't either, I have returned to work and don't have the time to come here anymore...which is good in someways, BC isn't front and center anymore
I'm so happy you have this opportunity to go to HI and don't blame you one bit for living out your dreams. I wish you all the best and hope you enjoy it there...it's beautiful! Life is too short to have regrets about what you didn't do. Keep in touch sweetie!

Jen, I am so wonderfully proud of you for taking the plunge. I did the same thing moving to Seattle five years ago, and it was the best thing I ever did.
When I look at your photos now, I see a thriving woman in her prime. Congrats, and thrilled that you are about to set out on one of life's great adventures. - Claire

Wow, that is great. I lost my husband to cancer 11 years ago and it really taught me that life is precious and too short and don't sweat the small stuff. Live in the moment and make the most of it. Best wishes to you and your family.
