I went/am going there for treatment. It is excelleny, but not perfect. I did feel I was getting all the latest everything.

They are known in the area for having quite rigid protocols. The idea that you will have much input to what happens is true, but only after some unpleasant disagreement in my case.

I was treated at MDA, but I'm local, so I didn't have to travel.  Lots of people come from all over the world to be treated here.  You cannot go wrong, every doctor is top of their field.  I feel like I got aggressive, excellent treatment at MDA.  Act now to get an appointment, unless you know someone like I did, getting in the door for an appt can be a 2-3 week process.

You will need to gather all your your tests and pathology reports, so you may want to start preparing. Had I not gone to MDA I might have lost valuable time as they found an almost imperceptible met on my scapula.

I'm another who flew to MDA for stagIng, treatment recommendations and bilateral mastectomies. Outstanding care which made me feel as though I'd done the very best I could to survive.

No regrets! I see you're in Kenner and assume youve got access to Ochshner ?
P.S. I was living in Ocean Springs, M.S. at the time.

I  work at MDACC, before 2000, we could treat patients of protocol in Clinical Trials, that was great for patients that do not fill all the requirements.

MDACC works closely with oncologist in the USA and around the world, this makes it possible to follow a treatment  at home, we know it is important for different reason to be at home.

But we have had patients that even finishing their care refuse to go back home , they feel secure and protected at MDACC. It is not for me the best place to work and ask for a second opinion.

Some times they just need to send their films and other results and then decide if the patient needs to came or not.

The staff are very caring and many had cancer.

Hi ladies,,thank you for all your in-put on MDACC.. I am in the process of gatharing my med records in which i pretty much have all of them on hand. Unfortunately,,my TH session last wed 4/18/2012 didnt go very well. I had an anaphalatic reaction to Taxol & had to stop that. We waited a few hours to start Herceptin once i've cleared up from Taxol,,& it happened again. SOOOO i've come to a BRICK WALL!!! I've decided to go get 2nd op @ MDA in Houston. I can't go wrong!! I feel as if there's gotta be another way to treat me!! My Onc here thinks that i should just do radiation/Herceptin. I feel that i'm not getting my FULL care of treatment that i need to beat this HER2+ cancer. Please if anyone else out there had this same problem that i have..please share your thoughts & in-sight on what i should do next??? Open for any SUGGESTIONS!!! I'm deperate for answers.... ;(;(
