Point, I live in nj and highly recommend my breast specialist sarah schaefer at st. Barnabus in Livingston. One of the best. Good luck. Mary
-
Thank you Mary:)
-
I highly recommend experienced surgeons in nearby NYC for DIEP. PM me for further details if u like.

I live in New Jersey and went to the Montclair Breast Center. My surgeon is Dr. Holwitt. I loved her. She did a great job, and she's been through it all herself and has the best bedside manner of any doctor I've ever seen.
Also, there is a board for NJ:

Sorry if that didn't paste in correctly

I highly recommend Dr. Daniel Roses at NYU Medical Center (it's now also called Langone) as surgeon and his plastic surgery team (Dr Stephen Colen is one of the ps)
-
Thank you Amanda. What type of surgery and reconstruction did you have.? I am so grateful to you.

I went to NYC and had my BS was Dr. Rachel Wellner and my PS was Dr. Joshua Levine one of the pioneers of the DIEP. Go to diepflap.com for more info. pM me if you have questions. I can't recommend them enough.

Thank you so much! Unfortunately my insurance limits me to NJ. Horizon HMO open access. I thought about doing deip. I am concerned about being under anesthesa for long period of time. I know Levine has an incredible repetition. I have an appointment at Robert Wood next week. I am thinking of implant with fat graft.
I am so grateful to you! -
Dr. Levine also works out of NJ. I think Hackensack? Anyway you should contact them because they will work with your insurance. My BMX/DIEP was 7.5 hrs. Not too long. I wouldn't be too concerned about that. Just having only 2 procedures instead of several was really worth it to me. I live 6 hours from NYC so I didn't want to have to keep going back for fills, etc. good Luck to you however you choose.
-
Thank you! I called Hackensack and they would only schedule me with a nurse practitioner because I do not have bc. If I had bc, they would schedule me with a doctor. Very frustrating!
-
I would call Dr. Levines office directly. Explain you insurance issues. They will work that out for you. Everything was out of network for me but they worked with me. Their office is well versed in dealing with insurance companies. Let them do the work.
-
Thank you so much! I will give them a call
