Things I no longer need

Options

I have several items that I purchased before my BMX with DIEP reconstruction and I no longer need them.  I have 2 camisoles that are XL with pockets for drains, several pockets that can be added to other clothing (Pink Pockets), 2 lymphadema sleeves that I bought but didn't need and can't return, and several shirts with pockets for drains (all L or XL).

Please PM me if you can use any of these items and we will work it out for you.

What a nice idea to post and make an offer!

I usually groan when anybody mentions creating yet another forum but a 'Swap Meet' kind of thread somewhere would be nice.  Maybe?

    WhiteRabbit,

That's exactly what I was thinking would be great.  How can we spread the news?

Fantastic idea. I sent my drain pocket cami to another member after having only worn it once. It feels like a good way to support our sisters who were facing new surgeries or treatments.

I have a couple scarves that don't fit.  I have a big head!  If anyone is interested, I'll gladly put them in the mail for you.  These are brand new, never worn.  Just send me a pm.

This looks like a great subject for the either the Moving Beyond Cancer forum, or the Growing Our Friendships After Treatment forum. wrsmith2x, let us know if you'd like us to move your thread and its comments to one of those spots.

This is a great idea for a thread.

A suggestion I have ---- after each person who posts that they have something has given that item(s) away, they could come back in to their post within this thread and  either edit or delete the post so people will know it is no longer available.

    Moderators,

Please move this thread where you feel it will get the most views.  I had someone send me something and I would love to return the favor.

    Pay it forward, ladies!

Most of the stuff would be needed by those who are currently going through treatment.

Not sure they would see it in Moving Beyond.

I think this is a great idea! I passed along some of my things to a lady that I met at a class I went to. We have remained "breast friends" and I am blessed to have met her. Perhaps this would be seen in the Surgery thread since that's when ladies are gathering what they need. Thanks for starting this!

What a great idea. I already passed my camisoles to a friend's MOM who was having a second mastectomy after 16 years

Excellent! I have many scarves and hats that would suit a fair-skinned woman; they are not especially seasonal.  I have a honey blond page boy wig, worn twice.  I have long-sleeved baseball t's and yoga pants that I bought new for chemo as comfy and stretchy. I am done with them, size M, and would like to pass along. They were chosen for access to a port near my shoulder, and may be useful for someone.

I would be delighted to send these off to someone (free), though it could take me several days to get around to it.

This is a great idea. I had so much trouble finding a compression type comfortable bra to wear 24/7 and couldn't comfortably wear 4 drains after BMX. I think either keep this thread where it is or possibly create a new index forum: for sale, give aways, or list items individually.

wrsmith: do you still have the camisoles?  i'm hoping to go through a bilateral mastectomy this summer.

i have two short-haired wigs, one blondeish, the other auburn.  both were given to me but frankly, i just can't wear wigs. i do scarves.

I asy we all should post our extra items that we no longer need on "Just diagnosed" and see if we can help others.
