I just walked 39.3 miles in the Avon Walk in Boston last weekend. It was a year to the day of mastectomy, and I remember telling my surgeon that I was going to mark the 1 year anniversary that way. It was an awesome experience!

I just did a video interview for the Group Health Fitness Network wearing Spandex!!!  I learned that having to wear spandex is an even greater motivator to exercise than health benefits.

The intent of the interview is to encourage other cancer patients to exercise during treatment.  So also features another woman who is cycling through chemo and will be doing the Seattle-to-Portland immediately following chemo.  I did it w/i six weeks of radiation two years ago.  (The STP is 200+ mies of cycling over 2 days.  The elite do it in one day.  I am not among the elite.)

The interview will be posted in a couple of weeks.

So off exercising tomorrow and Sunday.  I need to continue the 100 mile per week training regime, and have the 65 mile course of the Flying Wheels next week.  The STP is six weeks from now, and I am ready.

Now, to upgrade the spandex bottoms.  I snagged an amazing jacket on Amazon.  The Italians sure know how to do great things with cycling duds.

I have been eating everything not nailed down, so think one's metabolism can really be revved......even when on Arimidex.

Will let everyone know how this all works out.  - Claire

Looking at just a few of the many reasons to celebrate community members over the last little while. What are you celebrating?

TheDivineMrsM posted a pictorial review of her hair changes throughout treatment. From pre-diagnosis and all the steps through scarves, wig, just starting to grow back, and thick 'n lush, she looks great at every stage!  (Note: this is a Stage IV thread. Please post appropriately)

Congratulations KEW, graduating with her Masters of Social Work, with a focus on palliative care.

dmorgan and Moonflwr912 both finished chemo this week. Congrats to everyone who hit a treatment milestone!

Tiger64 is working on living life to its fullest, including earning her Bachelors degree in Accounting! Way to go!

Well, I gave my first scientific presentation at the Florida State Horticultural Society's annual meeting. I have never presented before and it was a little scary. I would not have done this before cancer, but life is short and the last year of my work has been spent on this research. Yeah me! P.S. I only have a BS and most everyone else there had PhDs!

To Marybe for giving her all to her family, her friends and her community, for fighting a great fight, and for having made such a difference to so many. She will be missed.
