Good morning!  I've been lurking in these forums for weeks, but just recently felt the nudge to reach out to you for support and additional information. And to offer my support to others, as well.

I did not really appreciate the gravity of being triple negative and BRCA1 positive until this past Monday when I met with my onc. It's starting to sink in, slowly. I oscilate between feeling very positive and feeling nearly hopeless.  I woke up crying this morning. Xanax is my friend. :-)

Had a lumpectomy 3 weeks ago, and a hyst last Monday.  Already feel like I've been hit by a truck and we're just getting started.

My onc is taking my case before a conference of other docs to gain a consensus re treatment plan. That's like getting a dozen second opinions! But my impression is we'll end up with wicked chemo and then a bi-lateral.

The chemo is highly intimidating to me, though it helps to read here that it's often not as bad as expected.  

I'm still trying to get my head around issues like life expectancy for TN, but also wondering if that's beside the point. So much chaos in my head!

    Hi Carla, I'm not TN but saw Raleigh and thought I'd welcome you because I'm in NC too.  I'm in Sampson Co....so not too far from you.  You're at the worst time right now, I was a mess right after dx.  Once you have a tx plan in place you will feel more in control and confidence again.  If they do choose chemo it is do-able with the help of meds, not fun but do-able.  This is a great site, you've come to the right place.  Come here often, we get it and understand.
