Yeah - too bad Winnipeg didn't make it in to the playoffs...I would be cheering for them for sure.  I think once LA beats Vancouver I'm going to cheer for the Preds.

Good morning ladies! I'm getting a late start today. At least I'm sleeping though. My MO finally found something that helps me sleep - yay for Trazadone. Hope everyone is having a good SE-free day. Things are looking up a bit for me - I'm not in quite as crappy a mood today lol. Next TX is Thursday - yuck. Doctor has given me prescriptions for Zofran, Compazine, and Phenergan but none seem to help so far. I'm thinking about asking for Emend but someone told me that, even with insurance, it's like $100 per pill. Of course, you only take three but still, with two treatments a month, that's $600. May just have to suffer with it.

On the upside, I made lasagna last night (I actually cooked and none of my family fainted in shock) and it was so good. Having leftovers for lunch today and trying to think of something good to have for dinner tonight. I've decided to eat something really good tonight and tomorrow night because I know the next few days after treatment, I won't want anything.

Hi all - busy morning.  I said screw my white count, I have stuff to do...took the kids to school and ran by the superintendant's office - they were really nice and gave me a copy of my elusive W-2.  Then ran in the grocery store for a couple things and in the Dollar General and found a couple of CUTE hats - one camo with bling and one hot pink with bling - I have decided hats are my thing - and they were only $6.  I also got some new sunglasses and some some makeup brushes. There are Dollar Generals on every corner around here and they are uptown now, lol!  Spent a few hours at my parents new house with my mom...I think she was using me as an excuse not to unpack.  Back home to try and figure out how to file an amended return and do a few things before the kids get home.  Hopefully I wasn't exposed to too many germs - I didn't use the carts in the stores and it's not like I licked anyone Wink

Lana - glad you found something to work for sleep.  Sorry none of the antinauseas are working.   Remind me, are you on A/C?  When I mentioned my nausea to the nurse, she said there is about a 10% window up/down they can go and the dr could "dial it back a bit".  I told her no, but I wonder if the dr didn't order it anyway since my nausea is so much better this time.  Yay on the lasagna!  That's a lot of work!

January - glad you got the shave done - I did mine myself in so many stages (with a razor/shaving cream a couple times) and I STILL have stubble and it isn't budging...it's not bugging me anymore though.

MLB - booo on no sleep.  I made the mistake of not either too much water or not enough of a last minute trip to the bathroom and work up at 1:30 and had to get up - HATE that.  Then I woke up several more times...it's like if I get interrupted once, it's all over.  I think my stubble may the the same thing as yours - maybe it just wouldn't have all fallen out had I not shaved it!  But it would have been all weird and scraggly so it's just as well.

Kim - glad you had a good night's sleep!

I have nothing to contribute to the hockey talk - we have our college football and that's about it here in AR - and that is nothing to brag about these days (damn you Bobby Petrino) Yell

Kitb04 - glad you refrained from licking anything while out and about, I know that can be tough sometimes!  ;-)

Trust me in the small town grocery store and rural Dollar General, there was nothing or no one remotely lickable. Tongue out

Especially not the handles of a cart, ewwww!  As soon as I get in the door from any shopping excursion BC or not the first thing I do is wash my hands if I don't happen to have some Purel with me.

Your bang on with if you get up once, your done.  I've established a pretty good routine for sleeping these days (unassisted).  I have some hot cocoa around 11, tidy up, wash up, get into bed for 12.  Turn on Coronation Street (totally hooked) which is normally on until 1 am.  By then I'm sound asleep. Due to the hockey playoffs that stations schedule has been interuppted and now it's only on for 1/2 hour sometime between 12 - 1 am. Going to have to start popping in a DVD.

ktb - I am on AC, having my third on Thursday - yuck! Lasagna is alot of work, but it's one of my favorite things to eat.

MLB - Hot cocoa sounds good. Haven't tried that yet since I started chemo.

Omg the cart handles are awful.  I carry antibac gel everywhere; have thought seriously of buying disposable latex gloves.  When my kids were babies, I bought the shopping cart covers that cover the seat/handles/sides before they were cool and trendy.  I'm telling you chemo germphobia has nothing on my regular ole life germphobia. ;)

L - I like only my lasagna bc I am so picky about the sauce (I hate onions) but I love a really cheesy good pasta of any kind - yum!

We all have awful habits of falling on w/TV around here - its the only way my oldest DD goes to sleep - whatever, it keeps her in her room/bed.  DH just turns it off before he goes to sleep.

O yea, love me some cheesy pasta! BTW, what part of Arkansas are you in, kltb? I'm in northern Mississippi, about an hour south of Memphis.

    Good afternoon everyone.

Well I just did my first trip since losing the hair.  My DH told me I couldn't hide at home anymore.  He's right but that didn't help me from being a wreck. Don't understand why this is so hard, I didn't think it would be. I just went to the post office, (yes I had to mail taxes), saw a whole 2 people that I don't even know.  Tell me it gets easier.

Kltb thanks so much for the picture that flashed in my head of this lady going around licking people. I needed that laugh!

My germophobia has gone over the top since I started chemo. I have hand sanitizer and wipes when I go out. I have masks but counts haven't gone so low where I've used them. Did anyone's MOs tell them anything about raw fruits and veggies? Mine said no sushi and that's about it. But people have been telling me about fruits and veggies. I'm really craving a salad!

kltb: Sounds good to me. I love Memphis - great shopping and great food!

lost: It does get easier. I really didn't think losing my hair would bother me so much, but it did. But it's only been a couple of weeks and most of the time when I'm out and about, I don't even think about it anymore. I have learned that I hate my wig, so caps/hats are quickly becoming my thing, and I've found some really cute ones.

MLB & Lana - you guys should go to Memphis in may! When I lived in ar I always went. Loved it!

Lost - I had a hard time my first outing. Felt like the whole world was staring. It's been a week now and it's getting easier.

triplem: My MO only mentioned sushi, and of course, now I'm craving sushi. I have been eating raw fruits and veggies.

Lost - So what did you wear - wig, hat, scarf, nothing?  When I went to the school in my wig, everyone was overly/too sympathetic/nice, telling me how good it looked, whatever.  I actually feel better in the scarf/hat I wore out today.  I haven't seen anyone I know while wearing it but I almost feel like people are looking at me funny no one has said anything of course.  I think we notice it more than other people do.

M - my chemo nurse just said thoroughly wash, but I haven't talked with her since my counts went down.  I think it is the same standards as pregnancy - no raw meats, fish, unpasteurized cheeses, make sure raw fruits/veggies are washed, etc...  I have heard on masks that they more protect people from you than you from others - reason being that most of what you are going to pick up in public is going to be from touch rather than being airborne unless you were in a really small confined space.

Thanks Lana! I see a big salad for dinner tonight! And if my hubby says anything I'm going to show him what you said! I think he's more neurotic than I am. That or he's trying to keep all the food and wine to himself....

I'm just sticking to stuff I can peel. Oranges, bananas, avocado, peeled carrots.  I may have said this before there isn't anything local as far as fresh produce goes up here.  I can't deal with thinking about ecoli and bacteria so I'll forgo for now.  I can almost taste sushi though  I'll have to ask the MO when he thinks it will be ok for me to have some.

LOL...I bet they would pay us to leave.

Y'all can keep the sushi - DH loves it - yuck!  Since I hate vegetables, I am not having a problem, lol.  The only kind of salad I care for is Ceaser (bottled dressing, not fresh w/raw eggs) and that is more fattening than a hamburger.  Drinking orange juice is a foray into health food for me ;)

I have wasted all @(*"@(* afternoon on here and my mom is picking up the kids so I don't have to get back out.  About to put on the music and at least straighten up the house before they get here.  Do not let me post again before let's say 5 p.m.  Just ignore me.  Report me as a problem.

Yah I don't do sushi either but love me a salad with the works! My salads have more calories than a burger! I got up and straightened things this morning and don't plan on anything else the rest of the day.

I've been at the office today so definitely not gonna straighten up when I get home - just gonna crash lol. Still haven't decided what sounds good for dinner tonight.

Kltb I wore my hot pink Harley scarf! Will NOT go without something on.  But still haven't bothered with wig shopping.

You guys can keep  the sushi. DH loves it and talked me into trying it a few years ago. I chewed, and chewed, and let's say I didn't think it would ever get small enough to swallow! LOL I'll take pizza, pasta, or burrito.

One the upside.  I finally got laundry put away!

No sushi for me!  Some things are meant to be cooked!  LOL  But I know so many people love it!  Maybe I just haven't tried the right thing?!  Who knows! I don't eat meat, and only occasionally eat fish - fresh caught kind - but I do love rice!

onvacation: Hmmm..that brings an interesting question to mind. I wonder if I can eat the cooked rolls. I suppose they're not technically sushi although that's what I call them. I don't see why not as long as they're cooked, unless there's some risk of contamination I don't know about. Anybody know?
