    Sweetbean,

I don't think I could stop eating Morningstar Farm Riblets, or Gardein Ultimate Beefless Burgers!  I don't eat faux meats every day, but I do eat them sometimes.

    Cry

I prefer almond to soy milk, but I do get soy when I go to Starbucks, and I use a soy creamer alternative at home.  I do choose organic tofu (Trader Joe's tofu is awesome and economical).

I really only eat a few things that are processed, though, so I am pretty sure I am "ahead" of a lot of people on the nutrition scale.   I know people who eat ONLY processed crap, and people who eat a lot of meat (and, even worse, cured meats like bacon, salami, etc), and a lot of dairy with growth hormones in it.  I feel I'm a lot better off than they are!

(I get a bit defensive about things sometimes, as I've noticed people (especially meat-eaters) tend to pick on my diet, when they're eating more unhealthy things than I am.  I do eat unhealthy things sometimes, but.... so do most people!  I have to remind myself to laugh when someone eating a Snickers bar tries to point out that my homemade kale chips have (gasp) a bit of olive oil and salt on them. Yell)

I think eating them occasionally is probably fine, but processed soy is really not that great for you and definitely doesn't offer the same benefits as the other types of soy that I mentioned.  I'm not criticizing your diet - just trying to give you information regarding soy.
