I'm going to invent time travel so i can be in all the pockets on the same day
Nancy - love the idea of a FUZZY navel. Good thinking. And then a bloody mary with some "veggy"s (celery, olives...take your pick)

We will land on our feeties.
-
You know I think part of it was that I wanted to feel heard and loved. I have to say the welcome I got really accomplished that, thank you all!! I did pm you Fuzzy, thanks.
I love the 'sisterhood of the traveling parachute pants' lol
Nancy, if you get her voice can I have her body? I know my husband says he loves me no matter how I look, but no lady minds when half the room turns to look at her admiringly
-
I have either been on a different planet or spent to much time in uniforms. I didn't even know what Parachute pants were. Glad a pic got posted otherwise, I still wouldn't know.
I'm in veggy's pocket too. So let's see if I get this right me>veggy>nancy>mak>Lauren>>madpeacock> DE> Special K> TT>fuzzy>crog>>>specialK in there too, but I don't have her in sequence(I'll make it up). Okay, i'll have too loose a wee bit of weight to fit, but this will definitely give me a goal.
DianeEssa-hellooooooo Yes feeties, I would just like to stay on them. Falling on my face this morning wasn't what I was supposed to do. I should stick to flying in the backyard.
Welcome TT. Vent away-Screw your boss-I still think you should picket him. Embarrass the nastiness right out of him. If he loses business --good.
pretty bad when you go back one page too see who you missed and can't keep two names in your brain---duh--found one-- Madpeacock, so up in the pocket thread. I'll put teresa in too
Okay Fuzzy and Crog your all set, pockets are full------Were all pf r's
-
Nancy, Right ankle turned. I swear truly someday that ankle's going to do me in, seriously, I've had several dozen falls with it ---4 of which involved closed head injuries on the left side. Thank God I didn't hit the right side.
-
So, the parachute pants are for all the pockets right?
Gotta make sure we have room for everyone!
-
Well now, I didn't know what parachute pants were either! I learn so much here..Veggy...the spinning doll head cracked me up..that's me these days...( helping elderly mother, helping step dad through chemo and helping partially disabled daughter ( all at different locations) keeps me going almost everyday with shopping and appointments..and those aren't even my own shopping or appointments. Wish I had some energy for all this.I do wonder why so many rotten thngs happen to people who are already trying to deal with horrible disease.Thinking of you all..wish I had time to be here more...
-
Don't mock the parachute pants. - I had them in every color! And If I recall correctly, many of them were neon! Pair them with a side pony tail and some scrunchie socks and we have ourselves a rockin' outfit!
I hope everyone is feeling good today. TGIF and get ready for the weekend
Actually, this is a weekend I don't look forward to. My last weekend before I go back to work on Monday after the BMX. Hey, if you're available, I could use you in my pocket. I'm actually terrified to go back. Not sure why, but I am... -
TERE, good grief, child, they have run you down with an 18-wheeler! Ye gads, how dare the world treat you that way! I'm with Nancy, they can't fire you over this breast cancer routine, you NEED your money, be it thru unemployment (you can claim it) or make a deal with your boss that you'll come in but only if he promises to send you home when you throw up on him, or have a very tall and rough female lawyer come in and tell him what's what with the law, and no matter what get Cobra papers signed to keep insurance going. Bless your heart girl. AND I know all about losing a house due to lack of funds. But I do like the advice about seeing a financial counselor, you can also beg the mortgager to refinance payments down to something you CAN pay regular, or ask family to assist. I know, you don't want to hear all this, you'll have your own game plan. It's just I lost my house and it was very hard, but I got a second bathroom out of the deal!
VEGGY, you know, just when you think you got it bad, just re-read TERE's post and hopefully it'll give you SOME perspective. I know it made me feel like a fool, whining over a little 8 outta 10 pain scale in my back every day. SIGH, yes, it's all relative. This Romp Room is a seathing record of the suffering of mankind as he toils thru the trouble of life. All we can do is grab a few moments each day and look at the sky, the flowers, feel the warmth of spring, the clouds and stars at night, the soft fur of a dog or the smile of a child. I WILL SURVIVE! And love always to FUZZY, wherever you are! GG P.S. And the girls going thru some surgeries, just focus on those pain killer pills, they're the one thing that can make me forget I don't have any teeth! Hahaha.
-
I think that is what draws me back to BCO time and again - perspective. When I feel whiny - and I really don't have anything to whine about - I come and read about others who have it MUCH worse and are facing SERIOUS issues - I take a deep breath and try to say something that hopefully will make them smile, laugh, forget for a few minutes, or know that there are people out in cyberspace that "get it" and support them from 100s or 1000s of miles away.
Stepping off of my serious soapbox. Back to the jocularities! (MASH reference flashback...my DH is addicted to it still) Thanks for letting me play in the romp room!
-
Madpeacock - I ditto what you said about coming back to the boards. While I am a whiner and complainer, I hope I can put a smile on someone else's face too. Bazinga!?! BBT fan? My favorite show!

I missed a lot last night. My oldest son, who has asperger's syndrome, threw a hissy fit and I ended up walking with him on our road. We live out in the country so the road is dark, no sidewalks and fast cars. To make it worse, I was wearing a black coat. A couple of cars went by but they missed us. I was able to calm him down. Like I don't have enough to deal with.
This morning I made pancakes from scratch. I looked for the pancake syrup and there wasn't any. Sliced up strawberries instead. I was so wanted the gooey pancake syrup to dip my sausage in. Now its time for my coffee.
It would be fun if we could find a pair of parachute pants and send it to everyone to sign. We could have our own story. We already have our own sista-hood. We could start a new thread and follow where it is going. We could post a picture with us holding it.
-
veggy, as long as you have brown sugar in the cupboard you are never out of syrup! I grew up on homemade syrup and make my own by preference. Just mix brown sugar with a little watter and bring to a boil. You can make it as thick and gooey as you want by adding more sugar. For the best syrup ever just add a little butter and simmer a few minutes.
You continue to be in my prayers.
Edited to correct spelling.

I'll try to remember that for next time. That sounds really good. Maybe add a pinch of cinnamon.

or nutmeg

I just need Extreme Home Makeover to come in, make over my house, pay off my mortgage, and get me a new hybrid vehicle (not what I had, but what I'd like). Some kind of job wouldn't be bad either but if my house were paid off I'd be able to manage everything else.
Really though other than my oldest son and his family, I have an incredibly supportive family. I love my children and my husband. We'll be able to survive whatever happens and the two kids at home are pretty flexible with change. I don't know what the plan is, but I'm sure we'll figure one out or find one. We've already started to look online at houses for rent just to see what might be out there if we do lose the house. I don't see a way to keep it though. Hopefully Monday I'll have more of a financial plan and maybe by the end of next week I'll know more about the cancer being gone *fingers crossed!
Chabba, that syrup with a little butter sounds great!
Lauren just a few days back and you'll be comfortable again
It's normal to be nervous just because it is a change.
Climbing into pockets today, just pass me along as needed
-
Veggy, Get a flasher like bicyclists wear and clip it to your coat. That's really scary. I bought a really nice black coat and quit wearing it when I realized I was invisible in Seattle's rainy weather. It's dark here when you go to work and when you leave in the winter.
