large tumer, large amount of pos.nodes
My onc is more concerned about the number of positive nodes vs the size of the tumer. However not willing to do a scan. I had a mastectomy a year ago, chemo A/C followed by 28 rads and now on tamoxifen.
Anyone else in a similar situation?

Cindi how many positive nodes did u have?
-
8/20 with the largest being 2.3cm
visit with onc yesterday and mentioned PET scan again and 2nd opinion. He did not appreciate the challenge. I still have faith in him, however he does not offer the HOPE that I need at this point.

PETs have a lot of false positives so I'm not sure how much hope you would get. YOu might buy yourself a lot more worry.
Are you symptomatic?

Oh I don't like to hear u feel like u'r Dr. isn't making u feel more positive. But some Drs. are really good just not so sweet (you know what I mean) Everything u do is u'r choice so do whatever u feel comfortable and if u have good faith in u'r Dr. mention this to him, sometimes their days are ine to the other and they have rough ones too. This is such a rough time for u u need to feel more relaxed and I'm sure there will be a lot more posts with opinions that are so good. That's why it great here so many now so much---I'm way behind in knowledge--that's why I asked about the nodes believe me someone will know. Good Luck Cindi

Thank you, and good luck to you also
I guess that is the thing...my onc is very good but just not the best bedside I guess. However, I feel that if he thinks I am getting the best treatment then he should show his faith in it and be more positive to my questions and concerns.
I am determined to win this fight and Im a Bohemian with a lot of Irish fight in me also. I have WAY to much to live for. Down sized at work trying to reduce some stress, if that is possible. My boss is great and was very understanding to my needs. Took some time off just to get perspectives back. Terrified of mets, but will have to put that on a back burner for now.
Have been looking for a good diet to follow since I did not get any direction on that. Going to check out the "pink ribbon diet" Do you know anything about that?
