Not DX but here are my symptoms I'm scared I know the answer
You know you are all my angels out there, you really don't know how much I have needed you all and you all have helped me in ways you guys will never ever really know!!!!!!!
OK here are my symptoms: I go see the BS on wed. 4/11. my right breast is enlarged, has changed shape very cone like, unlike the left is round (I have always had inverted nipples) but it has now changed not inverted anymore, also my areola has enlarged and changed colors from brown to a light looking pink. it looks like when you get a bruise that is going away, itching at times and at times a shooting stinging pain out my nipple, and also my left under arm not right side is swollen.. I have had the swollen under arm for so time now(4months).. but the right breast where all this is happening just came out of no where it has been about a month and a half I have not seen any other symptoms and breast has NOT grown since.. I did have a mammo/us done and everything seemed fine my Dr. is sending me to the BS because she is not convinced???? should I have something to worry about??? I'm scared I know the answer!!!!!!
Thank you for any info...

Some stats - 80% of all lumps are benign, of the 20% that are cancerous only beween 1% and 5% are IBC. So the odds are quite low - out of 1,000 biopsies 800 will be benign, 200 some form of BC and only between 2 and 10 of that 200 will be IBC.
Certainly you have something going on that needs to be taken care of. To me (certainly not a DR), it seems like you might be dealing with some form of mastitis. Has your Dr tried antibiotics? As you won't be seeing the surgeon til May, a round of antibiotics might make a huge difference. Have you had a biopsy? Surgeon would need to see the path. to know what he/she is potentially dealing with.
Don't know how old you are but do you remember/have heard of Alfred E. Newman of MAD 'fame'? Well, 'his' outlook was "What? Me worry." Well, I'm an old Alfreda E. Newman and to some degree live by "What? Me Worry?". I choose to not allow anything I don't know put me in a tither or waste my energy brooding over something that may not happen or be true. When I know something then I'm ready to do what I have to. Cerainly you will think about the possibilities but don't let the possible negative rule you.
Hope I made some sense to you - Hubby tells me I ramble LOL (He's right I do.) -
Thanks Kicks for your reply sorry typo, I'm 42 no I see the BS 4/11 this coming up Wed. and yes I did 10 day of antibiotics and no change what so ever!! it's almost like my underarm lump came back with a vengeance and got a little bigger!! No biopsy yet I really hope the BS does some kind of biopsy!! I forgot to mention I do have very dense and lumpy breast, and very fatigue and weight loss!!!! Did you ever have back pain right between the shoulder blades?? I get that often...
I do have a lot planned for the weekend to keep my mind off of it... Thanks again,
-
Thanks Bon!! you too enjoy your weekend!!! Yes I definitely going to ask for a MRI.. and ask about the 3-D mammograms... Thanks again!!!

kicks you are fabulous. i too am still waiting for a diagnosis, and feel like i know the answer already myself. i currently only have a weird pink like rash but its not going away and i ust dont get it. two surgeons have told me they see nothing along with my gp. if i could only have the same outlook as you kicks, i would be able to carry on and not obsess so much. heading to a skin doc next as the breast surgeons dont see a thing to worry about...hang in there ymond, i know exactly how u feel.

Hi ymond!
Bon and Kicks know what they're talking about! I just joined this forum recently and I am so impressed with the ladies (and men!) here. Anyway, first of all I'm sorry you're going through this stress and sounds like you're suffering physically as well, which stinks.
I just wanted to say that I've got to think it's a good sign that the initial mammogram didn't show anything. Even if the 3D or MRI do, at least it's not something huge and obvious, right? My IBC symptoms were bruising and slight pinkness and swelling but I had more that 8 cm of tumor that was more than obvious right away on the mammo. I had no pain (in the breast anyway) or fatigue.
I guess I'm saying that when it comes to cancer, if it's not large enough for them to find right away and easily, then that's a good thing!
So take a deep breath, be thorough, and I wish you the best of luck getting to the bottom of this no matter what it is! Feel better and please stay in touch and let us know how it goes.
IAll the best

I definitely will let you all know what happens tomorrow... Nothing has gotten better or worse on the right breast in the last 2 weeks I have been waiting to see the B.S but my left underarm has grown alittle along with the bump under the skin...
